btw - as for the WMD issue....I think people are quick to assume they never existed. Saddam intentionally led people to believe he had them, why shouldn't we believe him. But more importantly, we gave Saddam what, 3 months before we officially invaded? More than enough time to hide or export his weapons...if he had them.

Neal classifies himself as a Libertarian and I like listening to him at times, but he's a bit too anxious to go to war for most libertarians.

But his philosphies on drugs, taxes, laws in general are dead on.

I think that you should be thankful for Bush. You could have the dyke that ran against him last time and then you would have a real mess.

Althoughm JB could have won easily against her I'd say.

It's a sad time when a lot of votes are based on the "lesser of two evils"

well, there are some who actually believe what politicians tell them :-?

to merge the "what annoys you" and this thread - I hate hollywood liberals who think that just because they're famous, they're views should be listened to and splattered all over the news like it matters :x

I'm sorry. Did you ever think of calling social services on your parents? They were obviously abusing you.

"It" was the USS COLE. Seventeen United States Navy sailors died that day. I saw pictures of the crime scene before anything was removed, including bodies. I don't ever want to see anything like that again. I met several of the crew at Arlington National Cemetery on Veterans Day 2000; it was a sobering experience.

PHG, I don't think you were trying to be flippant. Nevertheless, these men and women deserve better than "USS whatever it was".....

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to downplay the incident. I just couldn't think of the name offhand and don't have the time to go searching for it. I meant no disrespect.

Thanks for saying so. I guess it was just the wording. "The Navy ship that was bombed" or something like that probably wouldn't have bothered me. But I'm the first to admit that this is a very touchy subject for me. I went to school with the ship's Commanding Officer. Those were my Navy shipmates who were killed. Close friends of mine had to work the crime scene, and it was a life-altering experience for them. So while wanting to give you the benefit of the doubt, I also want people to remember the ship's name, and remember the sacrifices of those aboard.
