I Can't Tell You Why

Went to the Eagles on Saturday night, and was reminded of soemthing I've occassionally wondered about. During Timothy B. Schmit's brief stint as a Coral Reefer, I've heard that they would perform his trademark Eagles song, "I Can't Tell You Why." Is this true? And if so, was it a Buffettized version, or was it straight up country-rock?

Yes, they did. It sounded like the Timothy b. Schmit's version whenever I heard it.

I know it didn't devolve into some sort of politically charged monkey-humping Jahfin bashing thread! Maybe everyone's loosening up as Spring nears.

Does Timotyhy perform it on the "Live By the Bay" video? It's been so long since I have seen it that I forgot about it?

Timothy B performed the song at several of the concerts when he was a Reefer in the early to mid '80s. He had short hair then, too.

I don't remember what Jimmy was doing or if he was even on stage - may have been backstage hanging out, or something else.

Hey Josh Leo here-hope you don't mind, but was reading along and thought I'd jump in.
When Timothy joined the CR Band, Jimmy used to let us all sing some of our songs in the middle of the show-We did "I can't tell you why", "Dixie Chicken"{Sam Clayton was in the band} some Club Triny, fingers would do a song off of his record, and I would do a song off of my solo record"Let it Ride" Jimmy would usually go off to the side of the stage and get a rest and enjoy himself.
BTW you probably already know, but Timothy was the one who first called Jimmy's fans Parret Heads. He is the original author!
