I am planning to go to Belize next month, specifically Ambergirs Caye. Has anyone been? Any recommendations someone has would be great.

Thanks.

Haven't been there, but am moving this thread to our "Changes in Latitudes" forum in case you're looking for it.

We've been to Belize. Stayed at Journey's End on Ambergris. Had a great time. Side trip to Altun Ha Mayan ruins was neat. We stoped at Maruba Jungle Spa for a meal. Quite a place. It was shown on "Temptation Island" where the folks went for Massages....

Took a snorkeling tour to the area designated as a park. Saw lots of water critters.

Caye Caulker

Post by JohnsonA »

Hi
We're just back from Caye Caulker. We went to San Pedro for lunch during 2 snorkeling trips. I didn't like San Pedro but can't wait to get back to Caye Caulker.

San Pedro has a feel of much more hustle and bustle. Too many cars on the street. Caye Caulker is very laid back and has wonderful people everywhere.

Very diffirent places.

Here's a link to some pictures of both. Belize, by the way, is a very nice place to visit.

Oh yeah! We took a day trip to Key Caulker too! It was really cool! We got a great picture of a sign there...I'll have to look for it. It advertised some really incongruous things...like laundry, bait and doughnuts....

I have to agree. Caye Caulker was amazing. We did a snorkeling tour while on the cruise and we stopped there for lunch. We are talking about going straight back there instead of wasting time anywhere else next time. Very relaxing and inexpensive. Our snorkeling tour guides gave us some brochures and beachfront condos were under $50 a night.
I think I'll take my shoes off and go walking
Down beside the Carribean Sea
I like the funny sounds of parrots squawking
I think I hear a hammock calling me
