My office, home and road 'jukebox' is an Apple G4 laptop loaded with over 3,500 mp3's, 500 of them Jimmy, another few hundred Jimmyesque artists, running iTunes via an airport express over wireless network. If I had to guess, I'd say 80% of the time, it's blaring Buffett, the rest of my collection is super eclectic. As the rest of you iTunes users know, if anyone on your same network is sharing their music, you can listen to theirs and vice versa. I get a big kick out of walking through my building and hearing my collection playing in someone elses office. Happens a lot as I work at a University where the students LOVE to listen to my stuff.

No. I find that it distracts me and I can't get anything done.

I usually listen to RM, or I just started a personal station on Yahoo's launchcast, I tried to load my preferences up with as much Buffett, etc as I can.

I have enough Buffett tunes loaded on my computer to get through and entire day....I start it as soon as I get there and it just plays all day whether I'm at my desk or not.....it even influenced my boss to go out and buy one of the live CDs.......
I was listening to Jack Johnson and he yelled through the door..."Are you cheating on Jimmy?".....I was shocked....who knew he had a sense of humor!!

A week or so before any JB concert that I'm going to I'll listen to a lot of his music but if there's no concert on the horizon I'll listen to other stuff. Today I have Santana, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne and Bruce Springsteen.

Listening to Buffett at work is not a problem as I have my own office but it's rarely all Buffett all the time unless I get on a kick. Mostly I just leave it on the radio all day so listening to CDs or tapes is a treat.

I bet I have over 100 cd's in my office. Lately I've been listening to Buffett, John Prine, Lyle Lovett, Eric Clapton, John Hiatt, Tommy Womack, Fred Eaglesmith, Robert Earl Keen, and many others. The lady in the office beside of mine has George Straight pictures all over her office. I am so tired of looking at George Straight.

At my last job I had an office in the back of the building so I played my Buffett tunes every day. Occasionally I would have to dive for the mute button on the CD player under my desk if someone came to discuss something with me when an "inappropriate" song was on. :o

I also used to have a Buffett quote of the week posted on my door. And the office was decorated with Buffett posters and tropical gear. Took me forever to pack everything when I retired.... :P

My office is completely decorated Parrothead style. I have 3 autographed picutes on my wall from Jimmy. I have license plates autographed by all of the Coral Reefers hanging on the wall. I have Jimmy playing every minute of the day.

we are allowed to play whatever we want at the record store. I usually play one Buffett cd a day (towards the end of the day).. it makes the angry customers easier to deal with.. actually last Saturday was Buffett day... the manager and I only played Buffett... it was kind of ruinesf by the other employee's 80's metal and emo though

Buffett at Work

Post by Jack P Diddley »

Between RM and the mp3s on the hard drive, there is always music in my office. Of course having an office makes it easy to do since it doesn't interfere with the rest of the staff. They, unfortunately, have the pleasure of Muzak all day every day. I'd go crazy!
Plus the "island sounds" make it easier to deal with spring in Wisconsin. It is snowing today. Not enough to have fun in, just enough to be a pain in the back.

I usually have music on in the morning as the kids arrive...then during any free/playtime we may have...I am doing my part in raising the next generation of Parrotheads...they also love when I play Harry Nilsson's Coconut...and of course anything by Raffi!
