I'm not trying to start an arugment here, but could someone tell me what the big attraction is with Great Woods? I've been there and I wasn't all that impressed. I've seen Jimmy in about 20 different venues and I wouldn't put GW in the top 5. Like I said, not trying to start an argument, just curious.

Hey TTR - I don't give a rat's a$$ about Jimmy playing GW, I was just passing along what I was told by someone who I feel is reliable. If you don't want to listen - fine. But you can take your wise-ass remarks and well...I'm sure you're familiar with where you can put them.

It depends on the person. I have seen Jimmy at several places and I put GW at the to of my list. It has everything I like. Great tailgating, the lot opens early, the police/security leave you alone and the venue is pretty good.
If he does a Mohegan Sun show tickets will be expensive. The place is not that big and there is no balcony for cheap seats.
I think this rumor will prve to be untrue, no way he plays on a Mon and Wed at Great Woods IMO.
Gillette on the 4th will be the date!

If you haven't been to the Mohegan Sun before, it would be worth the trip just to see it. I would guess, no tailgating allowed.
I had seats at Mohegan behind that stage for Tim McGraw.. put it this way.. I was not disappointed one bit!!!

I think it would be nice to see him back here in Connecticut....it's been a long time since I had to drive only an hour for a concert.
I hope it happens, guess we'll find out soon enough.

A show at "The Sun" would be ideal for me. I'd spend the day in New London with my grandparents and then put them in charge of babysitting their great-granddaughter.
That is the exact kind of show I would want to see and I'd pay top dollar to see it.

This Mohegan Sun and Tweeter Center (Great Woods) rumor could end up being true but for several reason I have my doubts. While Mohegan Sun is in Conn. It is right on the Mass border and only about an 45 min to 1 hour drive from Great Woods meaning he would be playing 3 shows in essential the same area which has not happened anywhere since the 1990’s. Also, the rumored ticket prices for the Mohegan Sun show are $150+, how many people are going to want to pay that much to see him indoors with no tailgating when they can spend less than half that and see him a few days later at Great Woods? Unless this Mohegan Sun show would be some sort of benefit show I don’t see it happening. Also, Jimmy playing on a Monday and Wednesday, while has happened doesn’t have all that often. Based on the fact that he is playing in Pittsburgh on June 26 gives us some indication that the Mass. show will be sometime around the end of June early July in what is looking more and more like a “stadium tour” summer in my opinion the rumored 4th of July Gillette Stadium show is the most logical rumor out there.

Top price in Vegas is $210, it's indoors and there's no traditional tailgate party but he still plays there pretty regularly. I've never been to Mohegan Sun so I don't know what the property is like but maybe the casino could put on its own pre-show party like the MGM Grand used to and like Margaritaville Las Vegas did last year.

I have seen him in Vegas 4 times myself and he gets away with charging top dollar because it is Las Vegas, but there are always a small number of cheap seats available for the Vegas shows for the people (like me) who don’t want to pay top dollar. Also, when he plays in Vegas he also is not doing 2 outdoor shows in Henderson, NV a few days later. I have been to Mohegan Sun many many many times and I just can't see where they could block off an outdoor area for a tailgate party. Parking is a nightmare there on weekends as it is and often every lot (Valet and Self park) gets filled to capacity so they have to shuttle people in from a satellite lot. Don’t get me wrong, Mohegan Sun is a great time and there are plenty of bars and other things do inside but I can’t see Jimmy Buffett playing there! Unless, again it is a benefit show.
But then again I thoght BC was a lock win today vs. West Virginia so what do I know

the casino show gets my vote, and I like having the choice of having a smaller intimate venue vs a large stadium gathering. . . .
I would easily put down $200.00 for a seat where I am one of 2500, not holding ticket # 34,536 . . . .hell, I would pay $300.00 . . . .
there's nothing like actually being able to SEE Jimmy without the help of Jumbo-trons. . .the New Orleans Coastal Confesions was awesome, but nothing, my friends, nothing can compare to being front row at Margaritaville New Orleans . . .
close enough to read his Levi's . . .34/30's , baby !

The arena at Mohegan Sun holds aprox, 11,000 for a concert and I would not call it intimate.
