The couple of times I've had them up here, they've been pretty good! I've had them at the Tiki Bar on Landsdowne Street and Redbones in Davis Square, Somerville. (Massachusetts) Both mighty tasty. :D

If there's no mint, you are looking at a caiparinha. Sometimes called a Brazillian Mojito, a caiparinha is white rum (or cachaca a Brazilian liquor like rum but made from sugar cane instead of molasses), lime juice, and sugar. Good stuff, but I'm a big lime fan anyway. I believe it was someone on this very board who said anything lemons can do, limes can do better.

I'll second that. During MOTM, I got addicted to their choco-mojitos. It was chocolate, mint and rum all rolled into one. The best of all worlds! :D

I keep hearing about this drink, but haven't a clue as to what it is. Can someone give me a recipe for it? Would like to try something new for a change.

Hey, how come 'more rum' wasn't a choice in the poll???? :)

Mojitos are the only reason I started growing my own mint.

lilcherub....you can check the following thread for recipes, however, it really ends up being a trial and error thing until you find the proportions that suit you best.

Sounds really good, thanks. I have never much drank rum before. Once in Bermuda many, many years ago, we drank a drink called a rum swizzle. Kick A$$ drink. It was red and totally awesome. It had several different kinds of rum and two of them were 151. Tasted like a punch, went down way too easy:o :o :o Don't remember too much of that evening

I've never had a BAD Mojito . . . just some better than others.

My favorites are from Hog's Breath. Key West.

I like the mojitos at Bahama Breeze.

HINT* If you are going to grow mint, you might put it in its own container instead of a bed...it will spread all over the place. Mine is growing in an old wheelbarrow and a sprig fell below and it even grows with runners through the St Augustine grass.
