I DO like talking on the phone. Anyone who's ever met me knows I don't shut up often.

2. Who is the last person you talked to on the phone?
The pediatrician's office to schedule an appointment for Victoria.

3. About how many telephones do you have at home?
We have 3 cordless phones. None of them seem to be charged most of the time though.

4. Have you encountered anyone who has really bad phone manners? What happened?
People on yellular phones in general bug the s*it out of me. I also hate when people chew gum in my ear on the phone or eat crunchy food--relates back to my problem with people and eating noises.

5. Would you rather pick up the phone and call someone or write them an e-mail or a letter? Why or why not?
Depends on who I'm 'talking' to. Family and local friends it's almost always the phone. Text message and IM w/ some friends throughout the day as well.

I hate it when people call after my keets are in bed. Just last night, our time share company called and I had to tell them that I won't talk to them unless they call at a reasonable hour.

I don't email or write letters much

Not really. I do it because I'm in a long distance relationship, but it seems like there is always something else I could be doing.

One; I'm on a VoIP, so I just have one plugged into the router.

One of the ladies at a factory I represent. Her job is inside sales which means she is on the phone all day. Every time I call, it sounds like she has some hard candy in her mouth. You can barely make out what she is saying because she is trying to hold the candy in.

E-mail, because I don't have to come up with an immediate response if they ask a question I don't want to answer.

All the time - I'm a receptionist and we get sales calls all the time. When I tell them the company policy is to not accept cold sales calls they argue with me or hang up on me

Call them - I'm not good at writing letters and some of my friends aren't good at responding to emails so it's easier and more satisfying to call.

Most people on Cell Phones. Without going into the obvious problems with idiot drivers who are too busy talking to drive, I have to say the most annoying ones are in the restaurant. Our waiter goes up to the table to take an order, their phone rings, and they answer it. They hold that one finger up ("just a second"), and the waiter is forced to stand there and wait, when they have better things to do. Inevitably, the call takes several minutes. p*** people off. Also, I hate seeing when two people come in, get a table, sit down, and one gets on the phone. The other one just has to sit there looking annoyed, but "phone guy" is oblivious. I've seen this arrangement last through an entire meal! Can you tell, I HATE CELL PHONE people!!!

Depends on the situation.

true story, BG2 and I were in Key West once and had just discovered ShrimpBoat Sound . we were trying to get 411 assistance to find the number of an old friend to share our fun . .BG2 got this operator that did not share our excitement so when we were giving her the info of city, state etc. she replied . . . " I heard yu the first, second and third time you ask for that ! " WOW did BG2 go off on her ! ! several B words and I think a reference to her mother . .

5. Would you rather pick up the phone and call someone or ?
absolutely call them . . .it's hard to drink a beer when you're typing . . .btw, BG2 and I talk probably 4 times a week, usually for 3 hours or so. I usually call from my cell to her house phone ( my free time kicks in an hour before her). then when my cell dies, she will call from her cell to my house phone . . .long distance friendships take a lot of work . .!

Other than people in the office who I talk to every day, the receptionist from the orthopedist's office to confirm my appointment yesterday.

All the time on the train, especially on the ride home at night. One woman last year kept speaking louder and louder as the conversation went on. Finally she told the person on the other end "I'm on the train, I can't shout." I said "Why stop now." She hung up.

I'm not a good enough actor to make people believe I mean what I'm saying so I'd rather write an email or a letter.

Not anymore. I used to as a teenager and in college, but I can't stand to be on the phone for more than 5 minutes now. Unless, I'm catching up with good friends like CRC! Or if it's a cute boy... like the one I'm talking to now.

My friend Adam. He called me last night to tell me about the nerdy boy that his roommate, Andrea (also my friend), had invited over. He was not impressed with him and had to let me know.

My roommate and I each have our cell phones. I just don't see a need for a land line anymore. Waste of money.

I go OFF on the HR dept here at work... they are S.O.B's. And the financial aid department at school are idiots, so I have to go off on them too.

I'd rather send a text message! But after that I'd rather e-mail. And if absolutely necessary, I'll call. But I only want to talk as long as it would take to write a text or e-mail!

I am 8-5 on the phone at this job. It has taken the fun out of talking. But, that being said, I like nothing better than calling or getting called by a long lost friend

2, but we don't answer either one 99.9% of the time. My wifes credit cards are calling 10-15 times a day. Maybe she should pay one sometime. maybe I should have a better job so she could. Maybe we both should run away and let them eat our balance. Sorry for the rant

4 or 5 times a day. My pet peeve is gum. Godalmighty already. Don't smack gum in my freakin ear

I call. Mom has yelled at me numerous times for never sending a letter. I'm lucky to find the time to squeeze in a call with all the stuff the keets are into.

Which may explain why I like one of the restaurants here in Atlanta. They have a rule of No Cell Phones. If one rings, you are asked to leave. I love it!

I have to be in the mood to. I am not now for long personal conversations on the phone. I can get client complaint calls at work that go for an hour or longer, so the last thing I want to do when I go home is stick a phone to my ear

At home? My mother .. for about 30 seconds

1 cordless - which I think needs to be recharged .. and my mobile phone - that is currently sitting here totally dead as well

As a trained phone coach - DAILY!! On a personal note - I have had issues with my internet company and their person that hung up on me - I have issues with!

I prefer the phone - cant pick tone of voice on an email, however, with a lot of friends in the USA - emails it is for them! (and the odd phone call!)

It bugs me when friends here, insist on text messaging me - then I message back, then they message back, then I respond ... they could have just picked up their phone for the cost of a local call and called me instead of costing us all extra money with text messages!! (not that they are expensive here - 15c)

4. Have you encountered anyone who has really bad phone manners? What happened? I like when hotheads call up, then call me back to apologize for their behavior. My family is also terrible "soft-talkers" on the phone - we drive eachother nuts.

I prefer email or writing - I'm too distracted on the phone, and with email or letters you have a record of what was said. And I find it hard to find time to make phone calls... I usually do it while driving to or from work, because I can't from work, and evenings are family time.

1. Do you like talking on the phone? Why or why not? YES! As long as it's short and sweet and to the point. I was the last person on the planet to get a cellphone, but I love being able to call people whenever I think of them, and being reached immediately by my friends or service people (painter, plumber) I've been trying to contact for while. I have a fun different ring for each type of caller that calls me... If it's a friend, it's "The Entertainer," work, it's "Fuga," family member "William Tell's Overture," etc. I also love having nearly everybody who ever calls me's phone number programmed in my cell.

2. Who is the last person you talked to on the phone? hubby, setting up lunch plans -- Chinese buffet...mmmm

Yes, one of my best friends will hang up on me and another friend when she is REALLY mad, but it's a good thing, because she says she doesn't have a filter and I'd rather not hear the swearing and screaming that occurs after she hangs up. Thankfully, this has only happened twice in three years and was a misunderstanding when it happened. I hate to not have a chance to explain..., but she's very much a Yankee and was brought up by screamers, so I forgive her and love her anyway!

I prefer email, too -- I hate to think I'm interrupting someone who didn't really want to talk on the phone. You can ramble on in an email and people can read it when they have time and reply at their leisure. I usually get email replies much more quickly than if I call and leave an answering machine message. And I reply to them more readily too. It's just more fun and less intrusive on them and me!
