I was thinking it would be nice to get the Coastal Confessions DVD this summer (sooner vs. later). But then I had a disappointing thought...that they wouldn't release the Coastal Confessions DVD until the paperback of ASPOL came out...probably November or so...FinzEast wrote:talanjs wrote:I'm sure it will depend if Jimmy has anything to "push" this year or not ...

My email from Mailboat yesterday indicated that Coastal Confessions would come out in the early summer (but then again we know how reliable they are!)Quiet and Shy wrote:I was thinking it would be nice to get the Coastal Confessions DVD this summer (sooner vs. later). It definitely helps that Matt and katie are beyond PH rookie status. You can see them trying to explain what Buffett means and who he is to all the outsiders. I feel their pain.
I would still love to see him do it though.

Yes, I am reviving this topic because I still believe he will make a Today show appearance. So the open dates are: June 24, July 15, July 22, August 5, August 12, August 19, and September 2.
I'm still betting on June 24. Smack dab in the middle of Boston and Pittsburgh. What do you guys think?

I forgot about the Al Roker book connection. If I were a betting man, I'd put money on June 24, also.fleshandbone wrote:I think he will be there again. He and Matt seem to be buds and the Al Roker book connection gives another reason. My bet is June 24. As I recall, last year he was a late additin to the schedule.

on June 24 the peter mayer gtoup has I think a gig in philadelphia
since they usually play with JB that would probably rule out the 24th, here is his schedule. I doubt that He would do a date that peter had previously cleared with his people.
Jun 18 Norwell, MA
· Jun 24 Alleghany River PNC Park, PA
· Jul 22 Charleston, SC
also, this year they are not limiting the performances to Fridays a week or so ago they had 3 performners in one week

I doubt if Peter Mayer's gig is at 7am in the morning though!
It would probably be feasible for him to do the Today Show in the morning and make it to a show in Philly that evening.....not the most ideal situation in the world, but Bubba is the boss and if he asked him, Peter would be wise to say yes.

Did that last year......NEVER, NEVER again!!! Been there done that, what was I thinking!!! WAY too old to pull an all nighter. Some people slept but I dont know how they could. It was terrible......except for those breif moments of Jimmy singing. I would stay home.talanjs wrote:i'd love to go, but i can't see heading out the night before to get a decent seat

I would disagree on this one. Katie keeps asking for "Cheeseburger". Either she is exceedingly-blonde and only knows that song, or she is exceedingly blonde and...
She graduates from rookie status when she can sing along to Banana Republics or Barefoot Children.

They've always had an occassional musical guest on other days but they don't publicize those performances as much as the Friday concerts.ches4me wrote:also, this year they are not limiting the performances to Fridays a week or so ago they had 3 performners in one week
I'm not expecting JB to be on the Today Show this year but if he is I think it's more likely to be in July when he's on a break from the tour. Last year's performance was the Friday before he went back on the road for the Camden/Nissan/Blossom/Indy/Alpine leg of the tour. The 2003 Today Show concert was the week after a 2 week leg of the tour ended.

She's beyond questions like: "what is a parrothead?" And "do you write your own songs?" Or "why are people dressed like this?" I'd call singing along to BR or BC to be more advanced vs. just beyond rookie status. It was neat last year to see Al singing along to Jolly Mon.RinglingRingling wrote:jonesbeach10 wrote:It definitely helps that Matt and katie are beyond PH rookie status. Ok... so she is at best, a second stage. When she gets to fourth, or fifth..Quiet and Shy wrote:RinglingRingling wrote:jonesbeach10 wrote:It definitely helps that Matt and katie are beyond PH rookie status.
