I wasn't planning on discussing it at all with her...because I agree she is too young. But, in the weekly school newsletter there's a list of people to pray for and it was listed as, "Please pray for Terri Schiavo who has been sentenced to death by starvation" and she asked about it.

IMHO that was so wrong of her school. They could have left off the death by starvation part.

That's a terrible statement by your daughter's school newsletter.

Like you said, she's prolly too young to have to confront such a moral/legal dilemma like that.
My sympathies to you for having to field those questions from your little one.
What's a child to think when her teachers say something like that??

Troy is exactly right. Most statements are laden with the intent of guilt. Victoria is pretty strong in her faith and I try to equalize it a little bit with common sense while still appreciating her strong belief in God and the Church.

Funny story. (She just had her 1st confession the beginning of March). Her 'pennance' was to say one Our Father for her friends and family. When she was leaving the confessional room (not your typical type room; just a regular small-conference room type place) she walked into the closet instead of the "out" door. Made the priest crack up and she came out of the room giggling.

Her first communion is in a month.

I have some friends - now they were not catholic - but they joined the Episcopal Church and were very happy with it. He was raised Southern Baptist and she was raised Methodist. When my minister retired he joined the Episcopal church as well. I've heard a lot of good things about it
