when your children get old enough you can use this case to discuss it with them. That's what Steven and I did Saturday. I know exactly what he would want me to do.
IMHO she's probably too young to discuss this with. In fact if I had tried to have that discussion with Steven a couple of years ago it would have probably stressed him too much.
IMHO that was so wrong of her school. They could have left off the death by starvation part.
did you hear that wierd noise again???
I take it you have not been around the catholic faith much. It is all about guilt.ph4ever wrote: yea but to subject children to that wording is very disturbing to me.

Cyber Sisters are an extremely fierce confederation of fighting females who act something like a shrill Greek chorus, echoing and amplifying one another's voice until their foes retreat in disarray. They are generally leaderless, but anyone who challenges one Cyber Sister can expect to be savagely attacked by the others. Only the most powerful and battle-hardened of Warriors is strong enough to weather a Cyber Sisters attack.

That's a terrible statement by your daughter's school newsletter.buffettbride wrote:I wasn't planning on discussing it at all with her...because I agree she is too young. And I am glad that I am not in either the husband's shoes or the parent's. Life is precious. However, if life was about being locked within my own body for 15 years, I would prefer to enjoy the dignity of death. However, as a parent, I try to think of what I would do if it were one of my boys in this condition. The answer is I truly do not know. I hope I never have to make that decision. The same goes if it were my wife in that bed. Luckily we have used this case to document our wishes. I personally hope that the parents realize that they are fighting this battle for themselves not Terri. And I hope that the husband does the same.

not Catholic schools no, but now that you have mentioned that I've heard that very statement from my non practiciing Catholic friends
Troy is exactly right. Most statements are laden with the intent of guilt. Victoria is pretty strong in her faith and I try to equalize it a little bit with common sense while still appreciating her strong belief in God and the Church.ph4ever wrote:PHBeerman wrote:I take it you have not been around the catholic faith much. Perhaps OMB didn't get the memo?
We've unionized from sisterhood to all out angry mob.

Seriously? Have you considered an Episcopal Church? It's kind of like Catholic-Lite.PHBeerman wrote:But I am thinking of rejoining the church.

Funny story. (She just had her 1st confession the beginning of March). Her 'pennance' was to say one Our Father for her friends and family. When she was leaving the confessional room (not your typical type room; just a regular small-conference room type place) she walked into the closet instead of the "out" door. Made the priest crack up and she came out of the room giggling.PHBeerman wrote:She is about due for first confession. That is when the real guilt starts.buffettbride wrote:Troy is exactly right.
