Under MY plan...

-You get 2 appeals, they must be within 5 years of sentencing. You provide the lawyer, we provide the judge.
-If your appeals are denied, you don't get to b**** about how unfair it is that you get to die. 'specially if you kill a kid.
-After your appeals are denied, you must go to your penalty within 6 months.
-3 months prior to your date with destiny, the general public gets to line up and kick you in the nuts, provided they pay $25 towards education per kick.

I feel terrible for the family of that poor girl.

When I think of justice for THIS sick pig (and for that matter, Scott Peterson too)
the death penalty, as it's doled out after 20 years of appeals, just doesn't cut it.

Flashback to Pulp Fiction, down in the basement, and how Bruce Willis (Butch) handled matters with ol' billy-boy, Zed.

Now....THAT was some justice there :o
$#@&...only Vegas again?? Padres ...gotta start believin'!Bring on '14 Spring Training!

I could be counted on for 4 good kicks.
I'd even sponsor a kick or two..

this is a tragedy no doubt about it, but for all the tragedies that have happened there are ten times as many good things that never make the news, people helping one another, and treating each other like they should be treated. It is hard to see the light in all this darkness but trust me it is there. We all just got to weather the storm and wait for a better day.
Well said, Preacher. (And I mean that title in its most positive sense. In military units, chaplains are often called 'Preacher' or 'Padre.' I guess you're kinda like our preacher, Brad.)
I accept the title with honor  :D

DKD you would probably kill him after the 2nd or 3rd kick

I taught anti-rape classes and shock WILL set in

that was a point I always brought up a good shot to the groin will
stop the procedings but may very well kill..

in this case not a bad idea!!!

a di@kectamy with a .38 would also cause a lot of pain and death.

or just let him room with Butch :pirate: :pirate:

Please allow me the opportunity to play the devils advocate - Say someone has been convicted of a sex crime or any other crime why do people think they should remain in prison for the rest of their lives? Isn't going to prison and atoning (sp?) for their mistakes enough punishment? They have done the crime and they have done the time.

Now this moron who killed the little girl, from what I have seen, he has a long rap sheet and most likely should not have been back out. I think we should do a more diligent investigation when cons are up for parole. Obviously, we need to make sure the criminals are properly prepared to re-enter society.

I cannot look at this nearly as logically as you. I have a 7yr old daughter. Just doesn't fly with me. Sexual criminals act again 99% of the time. Yeah...I just threw that statistic out there, but I sincerely doubt it's far off.

This man should never, never, never, never have been let out of prison. When it comes to 'doing the time'....there's not enough time in the world for bastards like this, no matter how 'minimal' the crime seems at the time.

The death penalty is too easy a punishment for a$$holes like this.

I am not saying that I subscribe to what I wrote - I was just trying to drum up some good old fashion conversation and debate. I agree that he should never have gotten out. I heard on MSNBC that in the last 30 years, he has been arrested 25 times.

I got a dui awhile ago and I know that when I meet someone and they ask why I am not driving, I can sense that they are looking down at me since I broke the law and got caught - even though I have paid all my fines, went to the safe driving classes and have done my community service. I have done my time and just want to move on and I have a feeling that people who go to prison for far less things than child molestation feel the same way that I do.

Debate is always good and appreciated. :D And you're correct...a 'harmless' DUI (i.e. one not involving injury to oneself or anyone else) is definitely something that can be written off as a mistake, once your time has been served.

Anyone who even has a notion of laying their hand on my little girl, though, has another thing coming. They are all sick bastards and should be treated as such from day one. JMHO of course, but I am very, very passionate about this!

Pedophiles can never be properly prepared to re-enter society. They are predators.....you cannot place a pedophile in society and expect him not to re-offend any more than you could place a coyote in a flock of sheep and expect him not to re-offend.
There is a special corner of hell waiting for these people.....we just need to get them there.

No one was hurt in the DUI - I got to go to a Cardinal game as a guest of Budweiser and had a few to many and made a poor choice. I admit it.

I have no child of my own (that I know of - let's just say that I don't throw rocks in playgrounds! ) and I am sure that I would feel the same way as you. People who prey on those that can not defend themselves should be locked away until they can become a responsible and productive citizen.

I am VERY pro death penalty. a true pedophile shold not make it
out of prison. you are not put in prison for "atonement"
but punishment and to keep your sorry person from society..

BUT and I mean BUT there is a movement afoot today
that does not have any "gray area"
what about the 25-30 year old guy that meets a 16 year old that has a
fake ID?? does he go?? what about that father In California
that almost did time because he walked into a skinny dip
party at his own house, a bunch of his daughters friends
were there..

this same movement also holds that if a guy and a girl are out
and he and she get drunk,and...... :o than the next morning
she wakes up and says "hey that was not a good idea"
that is rape.

IN this case this guy should go, but we all need to remember that
not everyone branded as such is guilty. [/i]

speaking of DUIs
At my job we just had a guy come out and do community service as part of his sentence for killing someone while driving drunk.
He did four years of prison.

So what are you saying?! Man - I would never last in prison - I have certain attributes that are highly reguarded in the prison shower - I am over weight, slow and fight like a third grade girl!

All kidding aside, I know that I should not have been driving but I thank God every night that I did not hurt anyone. If anything, this was a wake up call that I am not 7 feet tall and bullet proof. In a way, I am more responsible now because of it. I always carry a c-note when I go to the bars for cab fare home!

I wasn't always the most responsible drinker, either. Used to drive after drinking quite a bit. 'Til I had my daughter and it all kinda made sense.

We always make sure we have a safe way home.
