Speeking of shows that are yet to be confirmed/announced... does anyone have any word or rumors about Jones Beach...
The reason I ask is I think this is going to finally be the year I make the road trip down to Jones Beach since I have heard alot of good thing. For anyone here who has been to a Jones Beach show, how does the tailgating and venue compare to places liek Greatwoods??

FYI...if anyone on here went to White FLint Mall in Bethesda to get tickets last year. Please know that they no longer have a Ticketmaster outlet. I used to work the Customer Service and would handle the Buffett sales and that was one of the last things that happened before I left.

I think Jones beach is a very laid back parking lot. I think it is the best place to see a concert. The atmosphere is great and from my experience, there were no young people there who just came to party and not last past three. I enjoyed it greatly and def. would recommend it.

You won't hear me critisize Buffett, so I'll spin in off on his management company... why the hell do they have to schedule a Wed. show???? I don't ahve enough leave to take the day off... so no tailgating for me, this is frustrating...

Yeah, the only show in the Baltimore/D.C. area, and it's on a Wednesday! I'm not going to complain (at least too loudly). We should be happy he's coming here at all.
Reminds me of the year he played one show on a Tuesday at Nissan after going several years in a row of bookending the summer with Thursday & Saturday shows at Nissan AND Merriweather. Boy did we get spoiled!

I'm hoping to get tickets for nissan. My buddy and I went to the jones beach show last year, and the parking lot was indeed an awesome place to tailgate. Very laid back. But if we ever do jones again, we won't go if all we can manage to get is upper deck seats, its almost set up like a stadium in that if you're in the upper deck, no body wants to stand up and enjoy the show. We had some off duty NYC police officer behind us that said, "Hey, the old people behind me won't let me stand up, so you guys are going to have to sit down, by the way, i'm an NYC cop." We stood our ground until they started spitting on us and trying to push us over, then we finally went to the usher and they found us some better seats. Great example of new york cities finest, ey?
best way to get tickets

So do you guys think its better to get tickets through ticketmaster.com or go to a box office and try. I knew people that did both ways last year, none of them got tickets. What do you guys think are the best odds?

No, there are 364 other dates on the calendar. But June 15th is the only one that Jimmy will be performing at Nissan.

If I had to guess about Jones Beach, I'd say no. JB used to play there every year but now it's every other year. The last time he played the beach 2 years in a row was 1997/98.
Jones Beach is the smallest venue Jimmy plays (unless the Mohegan Sun rumor pans out), it only holds about 14,000. There's no lawn, it's a true amphitheater with all reserved seating in 3 levels. It's a great place to see a concert, the stage is built in the bay. Of course I'm prejudiced, being from LI and Jones Beach is "my" venue, but I'd take it over GW any day.

Spoiled for sure!
4 shows (2-Nissan/2-Merriweather) in '99 and 2000 and Merriweather is right in my backyard. All those years of 2, 3 or 4! shows was great.
On the Jones Beach topic......we ran into someone in Tampa that had been there many times and said it was the best. We had decided, besides the local show, we would make that drive if he played there this year.
I'm sure we'll know by the end of the month if he will be there this year.
