$$$$$$$$$$$ He can get away with charging $150-$200 per ticket for this show. In all honesty this show holds no interest what so ever for me. I've seen him twice in Vegas at the MGM Casino and I wasn't a big fan of that either. I can't see paying big bucks to see him at an inside venuecartmill72 wrote:This show makes no sense to me. I'm not saying it isn't going to happen. I just don't understand the thought process at work here.

Nothing intimate about a 10,000 seat arena, but also what many people seem to forget is that Jimmy is not on the phone calling these venues to ask, "Can my band and I come over and play?" These venues are calling his agent and offering $XXX,XXX for Jimmy and the Reefers to stop by. While he might say, "Make sure we play here, even if we have to go cheap," or, "Let's see if we can play some more baseball stadiums this year, that was fun," and every venue has to meet certain standards (tix will cost no more than $XXX, band will be provided with ___________), basically, if a venue offers enough money, they get the artist they want.cartmill72 wrote: "oh, let's play the intimate 10,000 seat Mohegan Sun Arena."

Good Thing
Only good thing is it's a small arena only holds about 10,000...it may be as close as I'll ever get. Copared to MSG which is 16,000ish.

Hartford, Connecticut. But it's 45 - 60 minutes away. The last I knew, there are busses that run from the airport to Mohegan.

Less for your benefit than for those who haven't been around the industry much. Until I actually worked for a booking agency, I thought artists told the agents where they wanted to go, and it was the agent's job to rent out those venues and sell enough tickets to cover the expenses. Found out through experience how wrong I was.cartmill72 wrote:Sarcasm.PalmettoSon wrote:Nothing intimate about a 10,000 seat arena, but also what many people seem to forget is that Jimmy is not on the phone calling these venues to ask, "Can my band and I come over and play?" Not to mention we have Red Sox Pirates tickets the same night as the Mohegan Sun show. As much as I like Buffett he is #2 behind the Red Sox in my book so you know where I will be that night.RAGTOP wrote:$$$$$$$$$$$ He can get away with charging $150-$200 per ticket for this show. This show will stink! No one should go. Everyone save your money and go to Great Woods instead! Don't buy tickets for this show. It won't be worth all the money. The sound is really bad and there will be no tailgaiting! Traffic is horrendous and it is too remote a location. Plus, all shows at the casino can only be one set and have to end early because of tribal rituals. Lastly, if you dress up in any attire that makes you look like a shark, parrot, pirate, or cheeseburger the Indians will skin you alive and roast you for dinner!
You have all been warned.

I'm actually really looking forward to that Pirates game. I havn't seen them play since the Pittsburgh Pirates played the Nashua Pirates back in 1987BottleofRum wrote:Not to mention we have Red Sox Pirates tickets the same night as the Mohegan Sun show. PalmettoSon wrote:Isn't Mohegan near Foxwoods?
Yes, the are about 10-15 minutes apart Both in the middle of nowhere. Mohegan Sun is the nicer of the two and the newest one. Michael Jordan owns a sports bar inside and another upscale steak house. There is plenty to do there for a night besides gamble, shows, shopping etc.... I don't think the show there will be anything like the shows at MGM Vegas. Parking is a nightmare on weekends and the lots get filled up quick so they have to shuttle people from lots that are miles away so I doubt they will have any type of outdoor tailgate party.
Mohegan is the 3rd largest casino in the world, Foxwoods is the largest.

What parking issue?
Don't know where your trying to park when at the Mohegan, but I've never had a problem parking there. I fact we even went over for a couple of hours on New Years eve......it was crowded, but the parking was a none issue. We go quite frequently since we only live 10 minutes away.

this is what we've been waiting on . . .the Balcony Girls will most definitely be at this show . . .
now asking for a little help . .would it be better to book at the Casino or are there other choices near-by . . .? ? ?
I seem to remember someone saying it is a bit remote , and staying on-site has many advantages . . .but can also be a bit pricey . .
any help appreciated . .
Two questions:
1. Is anything really far from anything in CT?
2. Which balcony girl (in the pic) are you?
Have fun, PHs of the East!
