I was poking around on ebay and IMDB this morning and came across this movie FM, that Jimmy was in. Has anyone ever seen this?

It was a popular film when it was released in 1978, but more for the music than the film. Sparked a big hit for Steely Dan. Haven't seen it personally (not on Netflix).

Don't remember Jimmy being "In it", but the song Livingston Saturday Night was.

GREAT movie. If you like WKRP, you'll like this one.

Jimmy actually peforms, I think, 3 songs live in the movie. The plot is that the underground radio station hijacks the commercial rock station's big Jimmy Buffet concert and broadcasts it live on the air.

Definitely worth a rent.

Heck yes. Martin Mull, Alex Karris, etc.

was part of the basis for "WKRP in Cincinatti". Great soundtrack, and a decent film for its time.

It's been ages since I've seen it. I think the last time was on the USA Network's Up All Night.

Does USA still have that show? I haven't seen it in years.

Best dialogue:

Station manager "We're hosting a concert, it's Jimmy Buffett."

Clueless front office geek "Great, I love buffets, what are they serving?"

Me too! Saw it in the theater when it was released and also have the album on vinyl. Shows Buffett performing on stage for a couple of songs near the end of the film. From what I recall, there's no footage of him off stage.... Also, Linda Ronstadt performs ..... 8)
