I've seen the Northern Lights many times...but that's all..Which is weird, considering I have lived in the South all my life...and traveled to the Keys and down island many times...
One time in the desert, leaving Vegas, going back to Southern California..I pulled off on some road to nowhere...something like "XXYZZ" road...can't remember...I stopped and got out and just kept looking up at the sky...No lights from the main road , or noise....Just me and the desert sky...
The Milky Way was just incredible...I stayed there and just started crying , it was so incredibly beautiful.....The desert sky at night is something to see......

Northern Lights - not yet, but someday!
Northern Lights: many, many times. Nothing like seeing them on a night when it is -10 in northern MN about 5 miles out in the country so there is little in the way of moisture or light pollution to block your view.
Southern Cross: not yet
Green Flash: No, but some incredible sunsets chasing it.

Never seen any of them but I'm not finished with life yet. Hopefully I'll get to see at least the Northern Lights and a Green Flash.

Experienced this many times when we had our boat in San Diego. We saw it when we were anchored off the back side of Catalina Island. Also, when we sailed down to Cabo San Lucas. If it was a clear night, no clouds in the sky. When the sun hits the water, it looks just like a green mushroom cloud. It is just breathtaking. Then there is sometimes a small after cloud, for just a split second after the sun hits the water. Just totally awesome.

Thanks for the encouragement, I'm looking forward to all three.
I've had the opportunity for the "Green Flash" several times at the
Sunset Beach Bar in St. Maartin, I've also had the opportunity in Maui,
I've just never been able to see it!!
One of these days!!

Lived in San Diego for 5 years and saw a few Green Flashes. Even better is The Green Flash bar in Pacific Beach (San Diego), it's right on the water with a clear view for the sunsets. Funny how that pic earlier on the thread is from SD too, I think the Pacific is your best bet to catch one.
Never seen Northern Lights or Southern Cross...but "Someday I Will."
Oh, and the road near Vegas is ZZYZX road. Seen it far too many times...

I was there a couple of weeks ago for sunset. *Incredible* sunset, but I can't really say there was a green flash that night. There may have been, but if so it was small, so I didn't count it....

Ah, The Green Flash.....hoped someone would have mentioned it already. One of my favorite breakfast joints. Mary Calientes are excellent. And did you ever see Speedo or Slo-mo Man roller blading by there on the boardwalk? Too funny.
