I'm not real big on soundtracks because most of them just aren't that great. It just seems that sometimes the song (or songs) that get your attention in the movie for whatever reason don't appear on the soundtrack. With that in mind, here are some favorites:

Nice choices Jah :) :) :) Especially the Jimmy Cliff. One of my all time favorites. I also like your comment on the songs in the movie that grabbed your attention not making the soundtrack. Well stated.

It also seems Kenny Loggins did all he could do to give soundtracks a bad name back in the 80s...

It was a terrible movie, but the soundtrack for Club Paradise (starring Robin Williams and Jimmy Cliff) is awesome. If you like Jimmy Cliff, there are songs there that you can't get anywhere else.

The Harder They Come is an all-time classic too.

Save yourself the time, unless you really want to see the Jimmy cameo. Buy the soundtrack. A bit nostalgic for some old school punk. The members of the Descendents back up Iggy Pop, and can be found on the track Fear, and on the Juicy Bananas track.(save the juicy banana jokes for later) When you hear the songs that made it to the soundtrack, it will make you want to pull out your old descendents vinyl and give em a spin. As for the movie, you can hear much of Milo Goes to College used as the background music. Enjoy the movie.

My favorite song from Club Paradise, "Apeman" by the Kinks was not even on there. I had to buy a Kinks album to get it.
BTW
That movie is FINTastic!!!!!
I wish it would come out on DVD already.

Thank you, everybody who mentioned The Harder They Come.
I bought it yesterday-- it hasn't come out of the CD player yet!

(Does anybody know if there is a soundtrack with Desmond Decker's Israelites on it?)
