The worst concert that I've ever been to was the Notorious B.I.G. in 94.
Absolutely terrible which is funny considering that when he died he was dubbed "greatest rapper of all time"

[quote="PHBeerman"]Nancy Griffith. I loved her music, but she decided to spew for about 10 minutes 3 times her political beliefs.
Kind of like you do on this list everyday?

Had to be one of these 2...
Lee Michaels..Came out, sang 3 songs and left the stage, never to return....
Or Joe Cocker. He came out and started throwing up after the 3rd song..They tried to get him off the stage , but he would not leave..So I did...

Vince Gill. It was in the mid 90's and he was drunk. Horrible show. We left about 30 minutes into the show. I know he is a great guitar player, maybe he just partied too much before the show?
Big and Rich. Saw them in Nashville right when they started getting big. Horrible. I don't get this "Music Mafia" gimmic. They sound like Montgomery Gentry to me. Bad muic. Bad stage show.

Wow that surprises me about Vince. I saw him at a small venue - it was actually a bar in Dallas in 92 or 93 but it held around 2000 people. It was a great show. Sorry you had such a bad experience with your show.

Merle Haggard at the Ohio State Fair, he was drunk and/or high. He was totally obnoxious and rude. The concert was free and not worth the price.

Sophie B. Hawkins- It was a local radio stations 15th anniversary and it was a all day event. Laura Brangain- "Gloria" who passed away last year and Foreigner were the headliners both played last.
It was a free family oriented event and she came out on stage already drunk. Raised hell when her 6 pack of Bud wasn't on her stool. The first thing she told the crowd was I love effing virginia, and then told her guitarist I love effing you too. Every other word out of her mouth was a f-bomb and the crowd started booing her to the point where the sound guy cut her off in the middle of a song. She blew a gasket and started throwing beer at the crowd. What a wacko!
Performace wise, hands down Alan Jackson. He sounds absolutely horrible live the 3 times I have seen him. I still like him and buy his music I just won't pay to see him in concert anymore.

You can take the p*** star out of the movie, but you can't take her anywhere to meet mom...

Whitney Houston. It was in 1988, and I was in college. My roommate and i decided to go at the last second. I liked her voice and some songs on the radio.
She butchered the songs beyond recognition and sang off key. She acted like singing there was beneath her.

Has to be Milli Vinilli ...circa early 90's.... at the Tampa Fairgrounds Expo Hall (now the site of the new Ford amphitheatre) While energetic..The lip synching was apparent!
Oh and Three Dog Night in 1995 in Clearwater Beach in their feable attempt at a comeback. I'll stick with the 70's CD!!
Never had a bad Buffett experience in 20+ shows since 1977!

As much as it shocked me, Eric Clapton! Saw him in early 2001 in Nashville, and he clearly was bored out of his skull.

I just thought of another one, John Michael Montgomery in 2002. He was so wasted on stage. He tried to explain what a medley was to the audience and instead defined a ballad. It was horrible.

The only difference is, for the most part, you pay to go to concerts. If I'm paying my money for entertainment, I don't want any monologues about hot button issues. I can watch the news for free at home.

I hope not, I have tickets for a show in August. I'll let you know.
I saw him a couple of years ago and thought he was great. He does a lot of medleys of his songs with other people's.
I'm going to have to say Sheryl Crow too- her voice sounded decent on the singles, so my best friend and I (I was only 17 or 18) bought the tickets and then the CD. So we already had the tickets when we learned her voice wasn't that great, and then the concert was just bad.
Oaisis was pretty bad too, but as they only played 3 songs before they stormed off stage, so it doesn't really count. But they weren't great.

I have said for a long time that he has about ridden the "Clapton is God" rep so far into the dirt that Death Valley is a climb upward.
