Last fall's Vote For Change concert in St. Paul - Bright Eyes, R.E.M., Springsteen & the E Streeters with an unexpected guest appearance by Neil Young who was unbelievable in combination with the other bands. I taped the televised Washington, D.C. concert but without Neil it's not the same.

Jimmy Buffetts Key West show in 1988 was awesome. All day event ...

but then again .. I enjoyed Queensryche also --- ah, musical diversity 8)

Obviously you have to separate Jimmy Buffett shows; comparing him to another musical act is like comparing fish and bicyles.
I've seen The Who six times; two of them have been my absolute favorite. Oh would I have loved to have caught them back in the day. Pearl Jam would be my second favorite rock show. On a good night no one is better. I've seen Dave Matthews several times but only a few really stood out.
Cowboy Mouth used to be a fun small show until Rob Savoy left; they haven't been the same since.
Most artisticily impressive show? Neil Young's solo acoustic set. Holy wow.

Obviously Jimmy's 2004 Fort Lauderdale concert was the most entertaining, but a close second would have to go the Guess Who when i saw them in Hamilton a few years back. Gordon Lightfoot doesn't have a entainment value, but I've seen him 4 times and he is one hell of a singer-songwriter.

Honestly the VERY BEST was Jimmy Buffett at Jerry Jeff's 60th BDB at the Paramount in Austin, TX.

Another great show was Guy Clark and Verlon Thompson at Carrollton Station in New Orleans.

Rodney Crowell and Will Kimbrough at Crighton Theater in Conroe, TX was one of the best.

Jerry Jeff's Labor Day at Luckenbach in 1996 was pretty special. (Saw Robert Earl Keen, Todd Snider, Jack Ingram, Junior Brown...)

Billy Joe Shaver's BDB 2004 at Paramount in Austin, TX was a great show too. (It's out on DVD soon.)

Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis Christmas at Gruene 2003.

WE had a lot of fun at Jim Morris's show at Newks in Tampa before Buffett show in 2003. It was actually better than Buffett's show.

Also a Sunny Jim show at Lulu's at Weeks Bay for StarsFOAlabama in 2002 ranks among the top shows.

There was also a Riddles in the Sand show on the beach in Galveston with Sunny Jim and Scott Kirby and Greg Bridgewater a while back...maybe 1999.

Buffett at Anaheim 2004 was a fantastic show.

I also enjoyed The Rolling Stones show in Houston back in 1998.

KISS,
Harry Connick, Jr.,
NSYNC
Gloria Estefan,
Bon Jovi,
Moby,
Earth, Wind & Fire,
Christina Aquilera,

And a few others I can't remember....all on the same stage, same night....
March 7, 2002 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony....

Okay, kind of cheating....it wasn't really a concert, but one of the most moving musical experiences of my life....after working our a$$es off for a month...it was a very satisfying finish!!
Coming from 9/11 and wondering if there would be Olympics to finishing with a cold, clear BANG!

When is comes to my favorite concerts it is a tie between my first Buffett show and my first O.A.R. show.

Speaking of which I seriously recommend that anyone in the Boston area go to a concert next Wednesday night at the Agannis Arena on Comm. Ave in Boston.

It is a concert headlined by my favorite band (besides the Coral Reefers) called O.A.R.. I have seen them 17 times and every concert gets better. They are widely reguarded as one of the best live bands around. They have some really good opening bands too (Ari Hest, Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers). Tickets are under $30 and I seriously tell you all that you will have an awesome time if you go. It sold out pretty quickly but they just decided to now sell the few sections behind the stage so there are now soem real good seats available.

Again I really recommend that you guys check them out... what else are you guys gunna be doing on a Wednesday night?!?!!?!? :pirate:

Here are some random clips from their show last week at the Aragon in Chicago. They aren't the best clips but it's all I could find. I could post some of the hundreds I have in my Itunes but I dont even know how to do that. O well.

Just right click any of them and click "save target as"...

I saw the Who's first farewell tour in St. Paul (in October '82 I believe as well, NYCPORT) It was my first date with Mr. Nicki & we have now been married 22 years. I remember that someone threw a gold watch on the stage to Pete Townsend & he seemed really touched.

Rolling Stones, Guns 'n' Roses, Living Color - Los Angeles Coliseum 11/89

Well, sort of famous :D ...Just made sure I always went to alot of live music over the years. Knowing people in the entertainment business has helped. Trust me, there have been some real crappy ones too.

Hmmm.....

Best would probably be Dave Matthews Band in Central Park in September '04..... (I think it was '04... Coulda been '03... The last 2 years have been a bit of a blur) General admission and nearly 100,000 people there and we managed to be only about 10 deep from the stage!

Second would probably be my second Buffett show in Phoenix in '94... (or '95... I forget..)

The Stones at Roseland was a great show. Jonny Lang opened and before his last song he said "Thanks for putting up with me."

I was at the Buffett benefit show too, 6th row stage left.

Excluding Jimmy Buffett I would have to say that the Best Concert I've ever seen would be:

George Harrison, Dark Horse Tour, 1973 in the Salt Palace in SLC, UT. Basically it was the Concert for Bangaldesh without Eric Clapton. Amazing musicians supporting him and George was truly wonderful to see live.

Jethro Tull, Bursting Out Tour, 1979. Phoenix AZ, I don't remember the name of the venue. It was a terrific show which covered a wide range of musical influences and styles.

Thin Lizzy, performing as Phil's Boys, 1985 in at Black Rose Pub in Tralee Ireland. In your face bass ladened rock and roll.

The Grateful Dead, 1981, Red Rocks, Morrison CO. Terrific band, great show and one of the most beautiful settings to see a band play live.

The Young Dubliner's March 11th at the Velvet Room in SLC UT. High energy and lot's of fun.

Ericka Luckett, House Concert, March 12th SLC UT. Beautiful performer with wonderful songs in an close and personal setting.

Warren Zevon, 1980's at the Zephyr Club in SLC. Great performer in a fun setting with lots of energy.

RUSH - Power Windows Tour 1985

Perfect combination of green, white and beer. We were about row 13 in the lowers and there was a guy down on the floor with two green glow sticks. He matched Neil Peart's drumming beat for beat with the exception of the solo. Hands down, the best concert I have ever been too.
