someone once asked me why Thomas Magnum (as played by Tom Selleck) tucked in his aloha shirts, when he lived in Hawaii and should certainly know better. well, now, that's just SO simple.... how else are we going to see his butt? :o 8) :wench:

and, btw, I was quickly and sharply corrected by my Hawaiian friends..... it's not a Hawaiian shirt..... it's an Aloha shirt..... I know, I know, we all call them Hawaiian shirts, but apparently that's a misnomer....
Aloha shirt...I'll remember that! I LOVE learning something new every day!!

Tom Selleck in his Magnum days...hotsy totsy! :wench:

Ok, sounds like we all just want to ban the speedo. I honestly think I like the whole body suit thing better for competition even.

When I went to my sisters yesterday - my mother had jeans on :o

I saw her and just screamed "Oh my god, you have pants on" :o :o :o

I dont think I have ever seen her out of a skirt!

(mind you - they would say the same thing if they saw me in a skirt or dress  )

How charming.

I guess when our grandmothers got their hair done, they didn't want to get it messed up! Hence the scarves and rainhats!

I think what we wore in the 70's and '80's were cool ...... BACK IN THOSE DAYS!

Now they just seem to look ridiculous.

Had to throw out my pink Lacoste polo shirt, my Members Only jacket,
my Miami Vice-type sportcoats.... good riddance '80's!

I have a buddy who still wears his O.P. cord shorts (the kind that only go halfway down) and tucks his hawaiian shirts into 'em.
He's married, so he doesn't give a damn anymore....

I almost can't wait for today's teens to grow up so THEY can look back and
realize how ridiculous some today's "styles" really are! 8)

Yeah, I agree. Guess it has always been this way . . . each generation gets to look back, gasp and remark how they can't believe they wore that. What do you remember about how you grandparents dressed as older people??

I dont think the speedo should be banned - it is part of the Aussie beach scene (you know they originated here) so I am a BIG fan of them ....

Those lifesavers look pretty hot in them

I was actually at my fashionable best in my early to late teens. My Aunty who is extremely wealthy - gave me her hand-me-downs (only a few months old) as they fitted me - I had all the good gear back then .... I dread to think of how it really did look!

Did anyone have the "shaggy dog" hair cut :o

It was Larry's comment about Goldie Hawn in the sexy women thread that got me thinking about dressing gracefully as you age . . .
