I just saw this on another web site:

Jimmy Buffett - Now Yer Squawkin'. Dble CD,

The combination of idiosyncratic hillbilly boy Buffett and crooner Andy Williams may sound unlikely, but these two seminal albums come from that very background. In the early 70s, Williams opened the short-lived Barnaby Records, and Buffett cut "Down to Earth" and "High Cumberland Jubilee" ( the latter not released until 1976) for them. The two albums, now collected here as a double CD set, showcase the oddities and quirks that define the best of his early output, and feature tracks that would become staples of his live set- particularly "The Christian" "The Captain And The Kid" and "God Don't Own A Car". These have been hard to find for a while, so don't hesitate to snap them up.

New packaging/title for a couple older releases.

I would suggest avoiding this release altogether and picking up the separate versions of Down To Earth and High Cumberland Jubilee that remain faithfull to the original album packaging instead.

Thats what I was wondering.... since JB isn't associated with Barnaby Records any longer, and no info about it is on any of JB official sites... that prompted my question about any more info. I have the originals on CD...Think I will keep them. :)

Thanks

The only drawback being, if someone wants the complete recordings of Down To Earth and High Cumberland Jubilee, they won't find 'em here since this collection omits some tunes.

It leaves off "The Christian" and "Richard Frost" from Down To Earth and "Cumberland High Dilemma" from High Cumberland Jubilee which was too bad because, at least to my knowledge, it was the only time Buffett has been directly involved in the release of these songs.

I don't actually have the album but a compilation called "There's nothing soft about hard times".
It only leaves off one track although I'm not sure which one.
My fave song from it is the original version of "Livingston's gone to Texas" complete with the lost verse that never made the re-recording of it.
