COLD PIZZA

Post by diamonddan »

When ESPN started this show, I enjoyed it A "Good Morning, America" show for Sports fans. It was a nice change from the talking heads on Sports Center, and The women on the show were easier to look at than the Sports Center guys.

But, not anymore. They slowly gave the girls less and less to do, and added Woody Page and Skip Bayless to try to make a "Pardon The Interuption" II.

I haven't seen the lovely and talented Thea Andrews for awhile, and I've heard Kit Hoover is gone.

Anybody know what's going on????

Well I hate that it starts later in the morning now so I can't watch it but I like the 1st and 10 because I don't think I can get enough of Woody Paige.

In my book, ANY of Woody Paige qualifies as TOO MUCH of Woody Paige.

Yeah, ESPN has bastardized PTI.
Actually many shows have. The 2 people facing off and a ticker to keep track of the time.....
Question: "And now Kenny Chesney has recorded a beach album." Jimmy's Answer: "It's flattering. Some people say I should be p*** off about it but I'm really not. It's the highest form of flattery, and I'm fine with it."

NASCAR does it during their pre-race junk. What a waste of time

Oh yeah, this was about Cold Pizza, sorry.
I felt the same way. A great way to hear what was going on without hearing the heads (Linda Kohn in particular). Never made it to that level.
Eye candy is nice, but I would rather have it with a good story.

HATE Skip Brainless.

Honestly, Thea Andrews was the only reason to watch that show, and she's gone. Not only was she quite classy and beautiful, she was also intelligent and very good at her job.

I have never seen Cold Pizza, so I can't comment on it in particular. But, as an avid sports fan, I have become fed up with ESPN as a whole. It seems that the network is no longer about sports but rather entertainment. Every time, I turn on ESPN, there is a show on. First, it was Playmakers, then Tilt. Not to mention all the movies (the Earnhardt movie, the Bobby Knight movie, etc).

And, not too long ago, I could literally kill a whole day watching ESPN Classic. Now, everytime, I turn it on, they're not showing a classic game. They're showing a Sportscentury, Cheap Seats, or an ESPN 25 episode (Hello-your 25th anniversiary was last year!).

Memo to ESPN: Your network is suppose to be about sports!

I found out after starting this thread that Thea Andrews (Canada's greatest export) and Kit (Go Heels) Hoover are indeed gone from Cold Pizza. Which means I'm done with it. The reason PTI works and 1st and ten doesn't is because Tony and Wilbon are likable. Page is ok, but Bayless has no personality.

In regards to espn, i usually watch some sports center, and games. The rest of the time, they are too busy patting themselves on the back, and way to mych time oversensationalizing things. "certain hall of famer" and "Best ever" are used way too much on the channel.

The first time that I ever heard of Woody Page is back in 96 when the Jacksonville Jaguars shocked the Buffalo Bills at home in the snow and we're headed towards Denver who had a bi-week to prepare.
I believe he wrote for a Denver paper and I remember the local media here making a big deal out of his "who in the heck are the Jagwads" comments and how they were beneath the Broncos and what not.
Needles to say the Jags shocked Denver too in one of the best playoffs games Ive ever seen.

Bad news, Gypsy:

It's ESPN, stands for Entertainment & Sports Programming Network.

The E has always been there.
