if the balcony girls want SOASOAPT for Toronto they can have them if i can bring them to the Wednesday Great Woods show, I will check my PM's right now, fins2thenorth I am going to PM you and get some hotel info, we're comming up the day before (sunday )and leaving the day after (tuesday) so hopefully i can get a good recomendation for a good party sunday night

Here is what is shaping up for the pre-show parties. The exact time and sequence of events are still being firmed up. These are the only official events being hosted by the Toronto Maple Reefers, the host club.

Saturday is looking like a party at the Keating Channel Pub (our club home) with Northern Harbour (formerly Margaritaville Express).

Sunday will be a tropical themed pub crawl in the afternoon followed by a three hour cruise (yes. a three hour cruise...). Location to be announced-likely where there is water......

On Monday, there is a tailgate party planned-location dependant on a few liquor law details.

For visitors from out of town wishing to stay for the weekend, we have arranged a special club rate at a couple of hotels. Further info is posted on our message board on our news page at:

Hi BNer's! Like Thing-Me-A-Thong Thongman, I'm from the Tronno Maple Reefers PHC just makin sure our news is "out there". It's really exciting to read about all the pholks coming in from out of town to play with us and welcome Jimmy back to TO! I do hope some of y'all can make it to our parties so we can meetcha. I apologize in advance for what might be some lame tailgating (Ontario liquor laws, what can ya do? ) but we'll try to make up for it at the parties.

I have heard that some pholks have had trouble getting the PH rates at the Valhalla Inn. Just persist if it doesn't work first time, try "parrothead" and "parrothead jimmy" and "jimmy buffett" and sooner or later something will work. I'll try to make sure someone talks to the hotel to make it go a bit smoother.

(Thongman Phil, if yer there, can we get the link to the hotel on the front page of the website instead of buried in the bulletin board?)

After you experience the great white north, Great Woods might never seem the same...

I don't really know what that means, but I might be the only member of the Toronto Maple Reefers PHC heading to Boston for both shows at Great Woods...my fourth foray to frolic in Framingham...or ton...or Mansfield, or wherever...Hope we can link up at some Parrothead events in Toronto.

Hey Linda,

The guy on the reservations desk there does not speak English too well, to put it mildly, but seemed to get it when I spelled Jimmy Buffett to him. Got the special rate no prob.

Cripes, stuff like that drives me crazy! I mean after all, aren't we doing the hotel a favour by sending business their way? You'd think they could at least get all their employees informed about special pricing without every reservation being a learning experience.

I don't think we're going to be running any special events at the hotel at this point except for buses to various things if there are enough people staying there. Mainly we just wanted to get a good rate at a decent hotel and publicize it 'cos we know that if there are enough Parrotheads at the same place at the same time, parties are just bound to happen!
