Jimmy in Panama

Post by sailman111 »

Sailed into Bocas Marina and Yacht Club in Panama last week and guess who was tied up at the dock ... Mr. Buffett. The Continental Drifter II was tied up at the dock, didn't click at first to you owned the boat. Guess he is friends with the owners as he hung out with them all week. On Friday March 25th he gave a 2 1/2 hour show at the little bar for about 25 people. WOW !!!!! what a time. Feel like the luckiest sailor on the planet.Still floating above water. Wish all could of seen it, it was unreal. Steve (one lucky PH). rnHere's a picturernImage

I think it's safe to say, that's about the most perfect evening at a bar ever! Outside, in the tropics, with Jimmy perched on a stool playing whatever the hell he wants to. (After a few beers though, I would have pulled my harmonica out of my pocket, and made a total ass of myself.)

Tuesday Night @ Heat Game!

Post by viva-vegas »

Not sure how this plays into the routing but, Tuesday Evening JB was in the front row of the Miami Heat / Toronto Raptor game wearing a bright red shirt, even had a few close-up shots of him disputing some calls.

That is so crazy. There was a large group of us there last week and one of the guys in our group thought he saw Jimmy, but wasn't sure (he is not a huge fan). I can't believe we missed that. I am so bummed.

My sources tell mey Continental Drifter II has indeed been Jimmy Buffett's vessel and writing retreat since 1999. it is a red flagged, white decked, bright blue hulled, 90 foot 1990 Cheoy Lee yacht, powered by twin 600 HP Catipiller engines and piloted by Captain Kent Kohlberger.
