Radio Margaritaville by the pool.............

Post by ToplessRideFL »

Maybe this isn't the cutting edge of technology, but it's new to me!

I can now lounge on the porch, or in my pool and hear RM!! Hubby brought home this gizmo called a USB Wireless FM Transmitter 3.0. You hook it into the CPU with one wire and I set my home stereo to one of 8 FM radio stations (list comes with). Then I turn on Radio Margaritaville (or music of your choice through the Internet or your computer playlists..... ) , grab a cocktail and head for the pool where the speakers are blaring! How cool is this?

Just in time for Part two of the SPOL tour! Better than grooving in my desk chair!

You will love it. This one is good for up to 300 feet or yards.... the distance between the computer to the stereo! Like many, I suppose, our computer is in one room and the stereo in another...no problem 'cause this goes through walls!!!

Pardon my excitement... :)

It uses the USB port to get the frequency from the computer to the transmitter. Then u tune your stereo in to a station they give you (8 to choose from) and it plays through your stereo! Really simple. He ordered ours from EBay (buy now feature). has a money back guarantee. The seller id rjackson72. Quick shipping. Make sure you get the 3.0 version.

The one we ordered (Kima model?) has a transmitter and a receiver. It says it is good for 1000 feet. http://lib1.store.vip.sc5.yahoo.com/chi ... iausy.html
Hubby researched it a little and it said you can play it off a stereo or attach speakers to the receiver. We figured for $42 we would try it!

If any of you iPod lovers are interested, check this out. Also can plug into your computer and transmit, on any station you want...as long as you find one with good static. I like it because I can use my iPod on long car trips and not have to wear down the battery. I just set a radio station and hit play.

This is not by the pool, but I have some wireless headphones that pick up RM from the computer and I can listen while on the treadmill or working in the flower beds, or heaven forbid, cooking!@!!

I think I'll head to Radio Shack tomorrow for the USB wireless gadget/transmitter. Great idea about the ipod in the car too.

Thanks...And...just in time for another leg of Jimmy's concert tour.

I cannot tell you what a must have this is! It is the best $40 we ever spent. And what a plus for RM fans! I thought just having RM was cool....

To think, a box not much bigger than a deck of cards can fill my home / yard / patio with any music that comes from the computer. Amazing!

And hubby tried his earphone/radio headset thingy.... picks up the signal perfectly. I suggested mowing the grass during Buffett Buffet! :)

We are planning a pool party during one of the summer concerts. Y'all are invited! As long as we don't charge admission I think Jimmy's lawyers will be ok with it!

You gotta get one.

My INTEGRA home theater receiver (Integra is Onkyo's high end stuff) will play computer radio stations, RM as well as all my stored songs on my music jukebox program and it can all be controlled by the remote for the receiver just hook the receiver to the computer with an ethernet cable. Just don't ask me how it's works it just does. It's a great reciever, it sounds wicked p***.

Anyone with a wireless internet connection and iTunes (Mac or PC) can use the Apple AirPort Express to connect irelssly to a home stereo or speaker system. It even has an optical digital output for cleaner sound. I love mine.

You can also take it with you anywhere and have wireless connectivity at work, or in your hotel, or anywhere you can connect to a network.

Topless, I was curious and checking into buying one of these. Did you buy the linex brand or the mobile blackbox? I keep reading about all the fraudulent sellers and I dont want to buy the older version.

It is the LineX Wireless Audio 3.0 version. Hubby got it from Ebay... seller is rjackson72, a seller from Utah. Very fast shipping. We bought from him cause he offered full refund if we were not satisfied.

Listened to the Thursday concert in the living room! I felt very HI TECH!! LOL
