I heard a rumor that Mellencamp and Fogerty will be touring together this summer. Anyone have any info on this?

NASHVILLE (Billboard) - John Mellencamp) will follow up a successful spring run in primarily secondary markets with a summer amphitheater tour with John Fogerty), Billboard has learned.

The two rock artists' approximately 40-date trek begins June 14 in West Palm Beach, Fla., and runs through Sept. 3 in Charlotte, N.C. Tickets for the summer tour go on sale April 23.

Mellencamp's spring run, which featured Donovan as support, wraps April 17 in Louisville.

Mellencamp recently told Billboard an expensive summer tour was likely. "If I go out and I enjoy this, then I'll continue," he said. "If I go out and it's a pain in the ass, I'll go back home."

I got to sing onstage with him in March of 1992 in Johnson City, Tn.

They were all over the story here in St. Louis yesterday. They're saying we're definately getting a stop. I can't wait for that show.

They said on the radio that Mellencamp will be touring with Fogarty and Donovan...but at different parts of the tour. It was an announcement for a show in Boston (Tweeter I think) and they(they being the radio station guy) said they were not sure which guy would be there, I am hoping Fogarty!!!

I've never seen Mellencamp but if you have a chance to see Fogerty run, don't walk, to get tickets. I saw him once before CCR broke up and 3 times solo. The man's a genius.

The one time I saw Fogerty perform it was during his "no CCR" period around the time of his Eye of the Zombie album if I'm not mistaken.
