I'm just glad that Jimmy is still out touring. Sure I get tired of a few SYKBH songs, who doesn't. But I'd rather hear CiP and WDWGDAS sung in concert then no concert at all. Some people says that JB needs to mix up the set list from night to night. Well you wouldn't hear the set list night after night if it wasn't for RadioMargaritaville.com. I would never know what he was playing at any other venue EXCEPT for the one I attended. JB has given us something that NO other singer does, a FREE concert on the internet everytime. If you don't want to hear the same setlist all the time, then DON'T listen to RM all the time. And if the same setlist still makes you grumble, then don't go to the concert and save the seat for someone who is happy to see JB live and in person no matter what he sings.

I like most of the songs on LTC and it is the most recent album, so no complaints from me on that. Another site has the setlists almost side by side and the playlist looks a little short this year, although it is still early in the tour. On the other hand, if your favorite song is on previous setlists but gets left off at the concert you actually attend, you might be disappointed. The only solution is for Jimmy to play LONGER!!!! He opened the tour with 30 songs, but the last four have only had 28. SLACKER!!!!
I am surprised that in the most recent concerts he put two Buffett rarities, DABATR and WGCOCS, together in the first set.

If someone is truly p*ssing and moaning about the set list, I agree. People who are biatching are not what I'm talking about in this post.
HOWEVER.... There's a
huge difference in tone between "Dammit, I'm sick to death of SYKBH and Jimmy NEEDS to mix up the set list!

" and "Great show, as always, but I think I would have preferred more of the old stuff, if I had a say." One is a biatch, one is simply a discussion.
I think I can guarantee that my favorite JB setlist probably wouldn't be anyone else's perfect setlist, and their's wouldn't be mine. The day we can't discuss our differences of opinion in a civilized manner, without getting jumped on for doing so, is a scary day.
Jimmy doesn't NEED to do anything. He doesn't NEED to tour. Thank God he does. I guess if I were a performer, I'd want to hear feedback on what the fans liked and didn't like. Honest feedback. Without drama or emotion.
So, what if I'd run into Jimmy Buffett getting his coffee out in Santa Barbara last Tuesday morning, and he'd asked me, "Hey, I'd really like to know what you thought of last night's setlist. Whaddya think?" My answer would have been, "Great show. I had a blast, as always, and I'm happy you're still out there on the road!" Then I'd probably look a little sheepish and say, "Since you asked, though, I think I'd really like to hear a little more of the older, classic Jimmy Buffett. More A1A, Havana Daydreamin', maybe. Hot Water. OTSTL. A couple fewer LTC and a couple more classics. Since you asked.

I have been trying to keep my mouth shut and just watch what everyone is saying. My origional post was not intended to say that I am totally upset about the setlist, I still think its the best setlist in years and I am totally not complaining, I will go see Jimmy no matter what he plays. I like the songs you know by heart, volcano is a fun song, fins creates a true buffett atmosphere and it wouldnt be the same without it, Margaritaville is a must play and i love Pirate as an encore, I am just saying that if i had any say i would go with older songs but this show is still among his best efforts

Yeah my girlfriend said the exact same thing, she is only comming to the two Great Woods shows, but we made a deal that I need to take at least two and possibly three weeks without drinking after i get through those nine days or so in june, i also had to give up Nissan, but its worth it, and i cant say I will be deprived this summer
