5 more years............

Post by ToplessRideFL »

High Times: Would you like to retire say at 65 and go into rumrunning or some other kind of activity with a boat?

Buffett: Oh, that's what I'll do. I'll go down to the Islands. If I live to be real old. I'll go down there and become a character in a bar. I'll have enough stories to tell. I mean, what else do you do when you're 65 or 70? You can't get laid....

Not that I want to start another retirement thread...'cause I don't! I ran across this article which I haven't read in years.... Curious how JB would answer the questions now!!

I wonder how his retirement plans are shaping up... Looks like we may have 5 more years!!!

I don't like to think about 70 year olds getting laid. Not that there's anything wrong with it. It's just icky to think about.

Yes, but when YOU are 70 and not getting any, don't you wish you could? I don't think it's icky at all-- in fact, I hope that there is a man who is man-enough to handle me!!! :P

You go, barbianne ...
I sure hope I'm still gettin' some when I'm 70. At 58 I'm doing okay, just like JB.

Perhaps you are from the same post-war Barbara generation as me... at least I'm not Barbara Ann, like so many others!

Wonder when he did that interview and how old he was at the time?

JJW is 63 and still out touring, although mainly in Texas. He still gets around the country including to NY. I think JB has taken much better care of himself and is generally in better shape. For Jimmy it may ultimately be too much of a grind doing the big shows with all the rehearsing & planning; while for JJW it's more about playing what he wants.
I know Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett is a friend of mine. Son, you're no Jimmy Buffett!

Willie Nelson is still kicking ass in his 70's. Frank Sinatra preformed until he was close to 80. And DON'T forget George Burns. 8)
Jimmy isn't going anywhere-he may not be playing the exact VENUES we want to see him at, but he'll definately be touring for several more years.
You can see it in the fun he has at his concerts.
