IMHO this thread is like the Shivao thread in that it has two sets of people divided down the middle and the potential for becomming nastier by the post. Especially with the mindset of some of the haters.

The thing is when you talk about killing a cat for whatever reason you incite come pretty strong emotions in certain people regardless of whether you are joking or not. For any of us who have had an animal, which was like a part of the family, (mine happened to be a dog) killed for no good reason it doesn't even go into the realm of funny. Let's try to talk to each other with a little respect and try to respect other people's feelings on the matter. With that said, if people who get their pets spayed or neutered then the feral cat problem would be reduced by at large number.
