I was just down in Myrtle Beach for Spring Break this week, and went to Margaritaville a couple times. One of the employees working there told me that Jimmy would most likely be stopping by in July to commemorate the 1st anniversary of Margaritaville Myrtle Beach. No specific date, however, as he usually calls 5 minutes before he gets there.

AWESOME...somebody at M'ville MB, please call me when he tells you he's coming by (in 5 minutes).

Now all I need to find is a supersonic jet...and I should be good to go.

According to management, every attempt will be made to get the word out as soon as they know that Jimmy's coming in. Seems they don't want him showing up to a half empty restaurant. Now, if I only knew what attempts they would be making, I could be sure to get the word. My greatest fear is to hear about it on the day after it happens

A few years ago we were making our yearly Jamaican voyage.... and as we were sitting on the bus driving from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios, I spotted a brightly colored piece of paper on the floor. Cant remember the actual text... but safely recall it said:
Jimmy Buffett - One night only!
Margaritaville Ocho Rios Grand Opening
February 23 2002 9pm!
It was already 6pm ! We were an hour from Ocho Rios, allready tipsy from the Appleton and Red Stripe, but you know I WAS NOT gonna miss this! Hubby slipped the driver a $20 and said step on it!
Why I didnt know about it..... can't tell you. The irony of us being there for that gig was so cool!
We got to the hotel hungry, tired and weary from traveling but obviously newly energized! We threw the luggage in the room and hailed a cab for the 2 miles trip to Margarittaville! What a way to begin a vacation!

I don't know when exactly the one year anniversary is, but it probably wouldn't be on the exact day... it all depends on when he decides to pop in and do a little set. July is one of his off-months on this summers tour, so it seems this is possible.

I was in MB last year for the first opening weekend for M-ville MB. I believe it was the last week in July if I remember correctly.

I wanted to go there so bad but the freaking wait and crowd was unbelieveable. Decided to try some other time.

One of my old frat brothers from Coastal Carolina U is a bartender there and he said he would definately hollar at me when he arrives. Aren't I so lucky? I will do my best to be in the crowd when he arrives...hope I am not working that day, would not want to be fired for running out of the office.
