Lawn darts. I few years ago a friend brought us one of the first water balloon slingshots and it made the Most Dangerous Toy List at Christmastime.

I think this is why some kids are so screwed up today. They don't get to release their pent up frustration and establish a ligitimate pecking order so they shoot up schools instead.

We also used to use those water balloon slingshots to fire fruit over the school building to the area where the band rehearsed. Almost felt bad about doing that, but then realized it was only the band
Hahaha. Wasn't highschool great. Son's cross country team took a boat out and threw water balloons at the crew team.

Lawn darts were great! I need to stumble across a set of those at a yard sale or something.

Ya know you might be right. And I hate that we try to put our kids in bubble wrap today. I have been criticized for my parenting style. My sons have surfed since they were 7, both paintballed, they've ridden dirt bikes, shot shotguns, spent hours building semi-dangerous ramps for their bikes and skateboards. There were some close calls but they've survived so far. I worry constantly but I don't want them to be afraid to try things.
I'm actually more afraid of them driving which they will be doing in another week or two.

I always used to have those ball-cracker things. I'm not trying to be a pervert...but they were these big balls on the end of like 8" of string and connected with a little paddle/handle thing. You tried to get the balls to smack eachother really hard.

My brother and his friends used to use M-80's and model rockets with GI-Joes to practice real warfare. There was always somebody who put firecrackers in frog mouths.

Yep...we had to play this at recess. There were some sicko peckerheads (who were probably abused themselves by parents) who made me (and everybody) cry and have big round red booboo's on our bodies. I prayed for rain.

then where were the hard red rubber tennis balls on rope you could throw and they'd wrap around what ever the rope caught on. like somebody's neck.

My sons have a tater cannon, but even better is their tennis ball one. I remember when they tried to shoot a tater thru a chain link fence to see if they would get french fries.

I would think chicken wire would make great fries.
