Sadly, that is the geek that is me!

I even went to a Planet Hollywood to see Slater from Saved by the Bell - and I was nearly 30, and the show was still on the air!

I'd like to point out that there is a difference between a band and a group.

Groups almost always are not cool:

*NSync = group
NKOTB (formerly New Kids On The Block) = Group
Backstreet Boys = group
Milli Vanilli = group
Menudo = group
Spice Girls = group

Solo artists are a toss-up:
Ricky Martin = solo artist, not cool
Elvis Costello = solo artist, cool

Bands almost always are cool:
Van Halen = band
The Black Crowes = band
