Fenway sold out in about 2 hours but it was very easy to get tickets after it was sold out as they kept releasing tickets and the scalpers bought way to many tickets so they were selling them for at or less than face.

Both shows will sell-out I just don't think it will be as fast as many people think. Esp. that 2PM show, who wants to see a show at 2PM? :-?
Your points are valid, but irrelevant. The Thursday TP show usually doesn't sell out immediately, because people have caught on that the Saturday show gets announced a week after Thursday goes on sale. People hold out for Saturday. Then Thursday goes quickly.

High ticket prices will be irrelevant because people that want to go will pay. This is the north side of Chicago (and all of Chicagoland for that matter) that we're talking about... the ticket price will not be that big of a deterrant.

The non-existence of tailgating is irrelevant too because people will be able to cruise the Wrigleyville bars instead... which actually would be just as fun as tailgating anyway. Less hassle & less equipment to set up and take down.

I have no doubt both shows will sell out in minutes... it will be a big hit & people that go will have a great experience & have a blast.

Well for your sake and everyone else I hope I am right and it is easy to get tickets.

We thought we would bounce from bar to bar for the Fenway shows but they got so busy that there were lines everywhere. I just remember last year a lot of peopel who would normaly go to the Great Woods shows didn't go to the Fenway Shows and the 2 biggest reasons why were, lack of tailgating, and high ticket prices.

The Fenway shows were a real good time, the bar we stayed at had outdor seating right across from Fenway, we had a few tables right out on the sidewalk and it was a nice day. it was almost like tailgating except you had to pay for your drinks. Friday started at 8PM the Sunday at 6PM and every ticket was the same price ($90) regardless of where you sat. I have seen Buffett every Labor Day weekend since I can remember so might to to make the Subday show.

Yes, I understand your point. And for the sake of the people going to the show, I hope I'm right too... but it doesn't matter that much to me because I'm not going. I just know Wrigleyville & I've pretty confident that it will be a good time for all.

Just out of curiousity, how many bars/pubs are directly surrounding Fenway? I'm sure there are just as many as around Wrigley, but I'm curious to know...

I can think of at least 12 of the top of my head that are within 100 yards of the park. Wrigley is going to be a blast but people should expect to most likely be confined to one bar because the lines will get long. From the Fenway experience there were a lot of people that showed up just for the atmosphere therefore making lines longer than normal.

They do make video screens that can be seen during the day. NHRA Drag Racing and NASCAR use them, most major outdoor sports teams have screens that can be used during the day as well. Not sure if the screens that Jimmy uses are capable of this as his shows are usually at nigth and/or indoors, but they can easily be had if they want to use them.

Okay... I see. Without knowing the Fenway area it's impossible for me to make a comparison, but there are at least over 40 bars within a 30 second-5 minute walk to Wrigley... and literally hundreds of bars within a ten minute walk or 1-2 El stops. It will be interesting for sure! There's even been talk that the city will shut down the 4 streets surrounding Wrigley & allow the bars to sell outside on the street. We shall see!!!

Show is at 6:00pm - she must have been confused. Congrats on winning! The girl who won on US99, couldn't even name a Buffett song when she was on the air. Apparently, a bunch of stations have tix to give away.
WGN is also owned by Tribune, hence the ticket giveaways. That's a station I can sometimes get down here in Indy...I may have to listen some. Good luck to all; I think it will be great fun.

I would say the biggest and best nighlife area in Boston is on Landsdown street which the street the Green Monster is on. Within one block around Fenway I can come up with - bars/clubs: CaskinFlagon, Axis, Avalon, Bills, Tequila Rain, Tiki Room, Jake Ivory's, Jilians, Beer Works, Who's on First, Copperfields, Baseball Taveran, Uno's, Game On, Boston Billards.....there are few more on Landsdown street that I can't remember as they change names all the time and several more down Brookline Ave and ton in Kenmore Square which is a 3 minute walk.

I have been to Wrigley 2 times and Fenway is more downtown than Wrigley so I think there are more bars in the Fenway area than the Wrigley area but that is just a guess.

The Wrigley shows will be a good time either way and I would like to make that Sunday show. What would be nice is if the bars got together and had wristbands so you could bar hop at Wrigley. Boston wouldn't allow it.

Don't know how many of you live in the Chicagoland area, but being a life-long native, allow me to toss in my two cents.

First, Wrigleyville has TONS of bars and places to hang out. The huge problem that'll present itself, especially to out of town folks, is parking. Wrigley Field HAS NO central parking lot! You have to find what you can, or pay outrageous prices in private lots. That is also why tailgating is forbidden: there's nowhere you can tailgate!

Second, to the person who said that the Tinley shows don't sell out fast, where have you been in the past 3-4 years? I've been attending Buffett shows for years and remember many years ago, getting tickets wasn't a terrible chore. In at least the past 3 years, both Tinley shows have sold out within 15 minutes of going on sale, with the pavillion selling out in under 2 minutes!

Third, I'm rather aggravated at the extreme ticket cost. $90 and up is outrageous, even for Chicago. I would not be surprised if the show does "sell out" because Wrigley is notorious for only releasing a smaller block of tickets, then immediately tunneling another block of tickets to the broker market. If you pay attention to Cubs tickets, you'll know that one of the major brokers happens to be OWNED by the Cubs! Yeah, it's a bleepin scam!

I just hope that they can get an Alpine Valley show negotiated soon. THAT show is going to sell out SUPER FAST with all of us Chicagoians yearning to tailgate and party will be forced to flee to WI. How irritating.

Like I said I don't know the area very well I have only been there 2 times and I got Cubs - red Sox tickets for 2 games this year. 5 for each game and it was rather easy to get them over the phone.

I am the the one who said the Tinley Park shows don't sell out fast and they don't. There is a reason why they don't anounce the saturday show right away.....it is so the Thursday show sells first. If you define FAST as within a day or two then yes it sells out fast but compared to other shows that sell out within 10-15 min Tinley Park is slow.

Beknatok---IUP is right-there are always a few tickets left for the Thursday night show--often they are singles and obsbtructed view, but it does not completely sell out, and when it does, it is after the Saturday Show sells out.

quiet and shy-ideally just 2 but would settle for 1, gladly. either day or both!

2 cents accepted.

But I still don't understand the huge gripe about no parking lots therefore no tailgating? It's not like people are flown in and dropped in the middle of a desert!?!? There's plenty of bars, plenty of food & alcohol... a party's what you make of it... it's not like it's a waste of time because there aren't lawn chairs everywhere... :-?

Outrageous ticket price... whatever. Free market. There will be people willing to pay... simple as that.

Parking is a pain around Wrigley, but the el (elevated train / subway) stops a block from there, so access will be easy. Then we can all have fun at the various bars, etc. in the neighborhood. It will be what we make of it; I'm looking forward to having fun! :D
