back in the early 80's , WGN broadcast Cubs baseball in Memphis. . .they always started the game with Van Halen's " JUMP " . .the first notes and the 4 beat drum thing would always give me chills. . .

Ahhhhhhhhh, when you could wake up in the morning and decide to go to a game and just walk in and get great seats. I miss that. I worked 12 years in baseball, because of one warm August afternoon in 1982, I walked up to Bill Veeck in the centerfield bleachers with two Bud's in my hands and asked him if he wanted some company. How the times have changed.
And yes BG, I cannot think of Jump without thinking of the Cubs of Larry Biitner, Greg Gross, Scot Thomson, Bruce Sutter and Manny Trillo

I worked for the Diamondbacks for a while and I can tell you that every other batter uses Ozzy Osborne when they are coming up to the plate...
BUT -- I know the Red Sox have been playing "Dirty Water" by the Standells quite a bit.
Jimmy has one -- 12 Volt Man!!!
"Never had the clout to knock one out, but hitting was the name of the game. Standing on 3rd as the coaches confered, close to my first claim to fame... Give me the steal sign, and I'll take homemake home, safe and fine(?) and I'll make sparks fly round your head."
... Something like that. I love that song!
