First, I guess you'd have to define what you mean by "island music" but I like Harry Belafonte, David Lindley and tons of ska, rock steady and reggae artists.

I've got Jack Johnsons first 2 cd's and though I enjoy listening to him...he AIN'T Island music...I don't care if he surfs and lives on the Hawaiian islands...It AIN'T Island music...NOPE...NADA...It's nice peaceful insightful lyrical music...but doesn't resemble Buffett or anything Island...Try Gene Mitchell...I got 2 of his cds, greatest hits collections, and he's good...So is Eric Stone, Jim Morris, Sonny Russell, Sunny Jim...Listen to Sirius Vacation 97...They play a lot of great music in this genre.

Jahfin rules in musical taste. David Lindley and El Rayo X use to play at the Old Port Inn at Avila Beach near San Luis Obispo. My Ska collection is one of my favorites. Island music is pretty a pretty broad category, but I do like Arrow.

I just picked up the new cd from Bobby Caldwell - Perfect Island Nights. It is really good - has a nice jazzy Caribbean vibe to it. Great CD!

I saw a band in St. Barts....the Small Axe Band. They absolutely rocked. Too bad I broke the "Watch da Creep Up" CD. It was my favorite, and I can't get it anywhere here. :( :( :(

If someone doesnt sound like jimmy, it doesnt mean theyre not island music. Like in all categories of music, theyres more than on form of that type

Big Eric Stone fan. I really dig the first 2 albums. 3 and 4 are good. I'm looking forward to getting the next couple.
