Have you recieved your money's worth
In light of recent complaints on Jimmy's raising ticket prices, I'm just curious if everyone hear feels they have gotten their money's worth when it comes to Jimmy's product (concert, cd's, clothing, etc.) It seems a loy of people have been quick to point out the rising prices, some going as far as to say Jimmy owes the something for all the years of dedication to his product. I know while I will certainly have a lot more spending money when he does hang it up, I have always felt like I have gotten my money's worth and then some when it comes to his products. I feel like Jimmy owes me nothing is basically what I'm saying, and it surprises me that some bner's have expressed otherwise.

I haven't spent nearly what some pholks have.....but the bottom line is that I KNOW when I buy a t-shirt at MVille it's going to cost more than a t-shirt at Walmart.....same with the local Harley shop, the local Hard Rock Cafe, etc, etc....I buy them because I like to wear them, it's a great conversation starter and a way to meet like-minded people.
As far as tickets to concerts......I feel like Jimmy gives me every dollars worth at a show. I took my niece to see him in Anaheim, she was a Buffett virgin and marginal parrothead at best.....she was amazed at how long he played, his intensity and how he sure seemed to be having a GREAT time on stage. She's a huge U2 fan and follows them faithfully through California....she said she loves their shows but Buffett was way more "in" to it and waaaaay more in to the crowd.
I really wanted a Margaritaville embroidered denim jacket......it cost too much. I didn't buy it....that's how it works.

Shows....worth every dollar put into them. That includes tickets, tailgate, hotel, etc. There is nothing like a PH gathering. So when it comes to shows money is not an issue. Even if the show itself were bad ( which is not posible)
The entire weekend would make up for it alone.
Margaritaville. Im never happy with the quality of food for the buck. And the sevice ( in the Otown Mville ) has got to rank the worse in all of Orlando. esp. from the hostess. But I really do enjoy the atmosphere. As long as I stay outside at the Lone Palm I can usually walk away happy. All though six dollars is a bit much to pay for a margarita when I can make them at home for free only 20 minutes away. Again though..its the atmosphere I am paying for.
Merch. I'v been happy with what I have bought. Im usually not into branding myself with clothing...even if it is Jimmy. So Iv bought other things like the ring game, umbrella, various Knick knacks. Been happy so far. Despite the branding I do want to get a pair of those FINS shorts. those are pretty cool. Funny thing though. I saw the same pair in Old Navy the other day. Turns out the FTL FTR cost you about $20.00 extra dollars.
I guess the FTL FTR makes all the difference in the world
Music. Unlike alot of modern artist. Jimmy does not put out crap. I can invest money in a CD knowing that I am going to like every song on it. I will never tire of the CD. So yes, I am getting my moneys worth here.

I've been happy with the quality of food, drinks, service, merchandise, performances, etc. I don't think JB puts out anything that is flat out poor quality.
I really like my brand new "Margaritaville Golf Club" wind shirt that I got in Vegas last weekend. It will be great for the Spring weather out on the course!

Concerts: The shows are definitely worth it at "regular" venue prices considering you get at least 6 hours of pre-show tailgating. However, I don't think the sports arena shows are worth the inflated prices.
CDs: I think they're usually worth it.
Restaurants, merch, etc.: I've only eaten/drank at the Key West M'ville, and have never had the pre-packaged shrimp, so I really can't comment on those. The tequila seems fairly average.

"Yinz to the left, Yinz to the right!"
I've purchased stuff from Margaritaville since Buffett first started it up and have never been unsatisfied with anything. Never tried the shrimp and the tequila has been fine just so long it's used for margaritas only.
His concert ticket prices are too high these days but the last time I went to a show they were still reasonably priced.
Buffett is well aware of the demand for his live shows because of the popularity of the Radio Margaritaville broadcasts so he's being true to his business sense by cashing in on them. On the other hand, I think a little more care could be taken in providing track lists (like on the new Live In Hawaii).

Shows....Until some of the prices I've seen this year I would say they are worth every bit. The most I've ever paid for a Buffett ticket was $80.00 way up in the nosebleed section at AAC in Miami - and incidently that was the worst show as far as experience I've ever been to. I don't see myself gong much higher for a concert ticket.
Margaritaville. Food sucked - service sucked drinks were overpriced
Merch. - ok I haven't heard much good about Margarita Shrimp and I'm also of the mindset if it's frozen it is inferior to begin with. As far as the stuff I've gotten at Margaritaville like TShirts and other merchandise I'm pretty satisfied. I don't usually buy concert TShirts anymore - I've given the man WAY too much money on those. I don't usually buy them for any concert anymore.
Music. I will continue to buy his CD's and DVD's no matter if I ever attend a concert again because of ticket price.

Most of the $$ I have spent on Jimmy has been for the actual concert and concert experience and very little of it on product. I'd definitely say I'm satisfied with the "products" but wouldn't stretch so far as to say any of them are stellar.
I highly associate the $$ I've spent on Jimmy on the experience overall.
$$ for my "virgin" concert (plus t-shirt) = priceless experience
$$$ for the concert where Matt proposed (plus 3 t-shirts) = priceless experience
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the concert where Matt and I were married (plus a buttload of Jimmy stuff) = priceless experience
$$$$ for our trip to vegas last year = priceless experience
$$$$$ for our honeymoon and Nissan this year = from what I've heard about Nissan and my BNrs and BWrs I'll meet there, priceless experience
Yes, I've gotten my money's worth.

Well said..... I have every one of Jimmy's CDs..except the Live Hawaii, Auburn etc..... and unlike many, there isnt just one great song and 10 filler songs! Of course thats just my personal taste.... Unlike that horrible Uncle Cracker CD I bought for the "fishy song" and thought the rest was intollerible!
Its like anything else, it is worth the money if you find value in the product. Lucky Jimmy...many of us find excessive value in his product!

if i had the extra $$ to go to a show im sure i would get my money's worth. i dont have the extra cash so, IMHO the prices are too high. however, i was totally pleased w/ the merch. i bought at 'ritaville N.O.
being the frugal PH that i am, i bought a bunch of blank c.d.'s and burnned away. that was totally worth it. jimmy=happiness=worth it to me

Sure, I think Ive got my money's worth. Ive bought stuff from Margaritaville, and have been happy with it all. I havent bought a cd yet that I didnt like, and even though the concerts are expensive, its a real good time. (Cant wait for Cincy!!)

Given that I have been to 40+ Buffett concerts, own at least one tour t-shirt from every tour I've been to, all the cds, lps, books, etc. and I keep going back for more, I would have to say that I've gotten my money's worth. Sure some of the venues charge too much for food and drink but I don't believe that's Jimmy's doing. Sure it would be nice if front row seats cost the same today as they did back in 1978 (it would be nice if everything cost the same as it did in 1978 and I made what I make today!
) however I make the decision every year what shows to go to and what price range of seats I'm willing to buy. It's all about the experience and what I deem it to be worth to me. I don't have to answer to anyone else.
