Big Question: Who is actually gonna buyWrigley tickets

It will be interesting to see JB's popularity, everybody knows how outrageous the ticket prices are $130.00 and $90.00.

Basically, it's show up to the concert and go home, absolutely no place for tailgating or parking anywhere.

They're putting about 39,500 on sale.

I've been to many a Cubs game and the PA system is absolutely the worst, could u imagine not one person in the stands understanding what Jimmy is saying?

Yeah, I'm bitter about no Alpine or Tinley, but, I live six blocks away and have to make a final decision about tickets. Nobody, that I know has confirmed that he's in.

It will be interesting.

I'm hoping to be at both!!!

Yeah there won't be the traditional tailgating but we all managed to have a great time at the Fenway bars last year!

I don't think they will be running the sound throught the cubs PA system. Now enough with that negative attitude, turn your frown upside down.

We are going if the ticket gods smile on us.

Spend it while you can
Money is contraband, you can't take it with you when you go.

That's our philosphy.

I should be able to give a pint of blood a day until the concert so if I can get through to get tickets I will be able to pay the credit card bill and take a transfusion right after labor day.

In other words...I am going to try as well as a few of my other ph friends.

I apologize to everyone who could not care less about Wrigley, Alpine, and / or Tinley Park! For a while, I was delusional, and thought the Fenway / Great Woods people were worse than us. But now that dates / times / and ticket info has been made official, I think we caught up and passed you up for the annoyance / saturation factor, and we have 5 more months to read about it! Maybe a separate forum area should be created! :o

Anyway, I didn't want to start a new thread, so if you read this, I'm sorry for my part in the madness.

Not me... but then again I wasn't planning on it even if they were only $40.

and why the big deal about chicago? ticket prices were $123 and $86 for pittsburgh...not to take anything away from the 'burgh as I am a huge steeler phan, but it will be a long time before PNC park is on the National Registry of Historic places...I like tailgating as much as the next guy, but its not the reason I go to a show, I can tailgate for any number of events that I want to most times of the year, granted they're not the over the top as Buffett, but your buying a ticket to see an event in a great city...it costs $70 to go see the Blue Man Group in chi-town and nobody thinks twice about paying it...I'll be trying to get tickets Monday morning and hope to get enough for me and the crew to go, sure it will be different from other venues with parking lots, but it will be cool in its own way...

Just a suggestion if you live six blocks away. I live about the same for fenway, so last year knocked a few back, and took a walk down to see if I could grab a few cheap seats, got tickets for under 50 bucks for both shows. If you don't have it to pay the prices, don't, and maybe like me the tiki gods will be kind and you will get to go anyway.

Hoping to score tickets for the Sunday show. I haven't decided about the Monday show yet. I would be interested in possibly sitting in one of the roof tops for the Monday show.

Not going to Wrigley, but those prices are a steal compared to Mohegan Sun prices.

That's only half the tickets as they are allowed to sell 39,000 for each show...so where are the other tickets going??? (Scalpers, Tribune Execs, Sponsors, ???)

Then how did I get tickets for $46.00 plus fees? I though the tickets were $86 and $46.

I thought it was 39,500 max for each show.

They are putting 39.500 on sale---that does not include the 1000 or so that they are giving away, or the 1000 or so that the radio stations and sponsors get too.

It also likely does not include the "Limited" number that will go to Cubs Season Ticket holders, as well as the 2000-3000 tickets that are supposedly being made available to the neighborhood residents that surround Wrigley.

If you got tickets during the presale they were more expensive.
