My life is moving on just fine, thank you. I make comments regarding his spelling because of his claim of being able to teach his children everything they need to know with home schooling. Mispelled words are out of control in our society right now, and whether you think it's no big deal or not, it is a reflection of poor education, IMHO.
I do great in school and have gone to great schools i am a horrible speller so you feel i have been poorly educated? I think you couldnt be more wrong.

No offense, but that has to be about the stupidest thing I've ever read...
Now I've seen it all...
I agree with them. Seriously stupid comment.
I work in public schools, my kids go to public schools (and always will), and at my school I hire ONLY people who have passed FBI / Highway Patrol background checks (as required by law) and that convince me in person, AND through in-depth reference checks that they are good people.
Just a thought... if you're that upset about public schools, then DO SOMETHING about it. Run for the school board, volunteer, whatever. If there's a problem let's fix it for ALL our kids.

Why run for the board, when I do not send my children to the schools. I vote down every referendum that they try to get passed. I belive that everything my child needs to learn, I can teach them, and then more. Talk to the children at public schools, and ask them about the Challenger, and what it meant to the schools when It happened. 90% of the children will ask you , "Challenger, whats the Challenger". That right there is so wrong.. Back in 1986, when my Neice and Newphew were in grade school, That was the biggest thing of the year, no matter if you were in Kindergarten, or in College. They do not teach the children what they need to know.. They do not teach them what is going on over in the Middle East, They do not know that we are NOT welcomed over there. We are sending our CHILDREN over there to fight something that the people over there need to be taking care of themselves. I went through it during Vietnam. I lost many good friends for another war that we should have not been in, and something that they can never give back are my friends.
Im sorry if I am ranting, But i am a big beliver that public schools are a big evil in this world. Just watch the first few minutes of Micheal Moores Farenheight 9/11.
I see that you and my 4 year old have a similar problem! Maybe I can try to help you out too! Just because you see something in a movie does not mean it is real sweetie. It's just actors! No, you will not become Peter Parker, or get his "powers" if you get the Spiderman suit.
But, maybe you could fight the EVIL public schools!

Suit up!!!

Wow! I figured I'd come into this thread and say Thank You Jimmy for all the fun and friends you've given me.
Think I will leave it at that rather than comment on the recent direction of this thread.....
Maybe you would like to take this discussion to the "off topic" area???

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE SOME OF YOU THAT JUMP ON THE BAND WAGON ABOUT THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM COMPLAIN ABOUT A THREAD BEING HIJACKED BY THE BN BLACK SHEEP - WELCOME TO THE BLACK SHEEP CLUB
Ok now that I have your attention and possibly p*** some of you off the fact of the matter (and the apparent gist of ABF's initial post) is the cost of attending a Buffett concert is simply outrageous!!!! When ticket prices more that double in one year for some areas SOMETHING HAS GOT TO GIVE. Geez he's always thanking us parrotheads that gave him his sumer job for 30 years. Wow what a way to thank us - select venues to play at where ticket prices are so outrageous we can't even attend a show. People realize some of us are being f*cked royally this year. Hell the ticket prices I saw for Philly are more than what I paid for the freaking hotel for Nissan last year. For years I've said that if I attend but one concert a year it's going to be Buffett. Well I'm now looking into other performers because Buffett obviously dosn't give a rat's ass about the "little man" that helped put him where he is today.

ok I'll even go one step further. As I was reading thru this thread someone mentioned that others are not happy with the prices this year. Show your faces!!! It's obvious the man reads or has people who report to him what's going on here. Are y'all to chicken to speak up and say Geez dude you're making it real tough for those of us that have been here all these years to even see one show now. Step up to the plate people or are you too afraid to p*** Jimmy off??

I'd like to be able to go to a Buffett concert for $20 like I used to, but I'd also like to pay 29 cents for a gallon of gas like I used to. Everything is more expensive. Except tickets to Alpine Valley this year.

I respectfully disagree, and think:
Yesterday's over our shoulder
We can't look back for too long
There's just too much to see waiting in front of me
And I know that I just can't go wrong

I'm not talking the fact my first Buffett experience was 99 cents - I'm talking an area that sees a 25% or greater ticket price in one year. Your everything is more expensive theory is really moot when you're talking a substancial increase in ticket price that is brought on by either the performer/management/venue/promoter's greed.

Is it greed, or is it rising costs? I respectfully disagree again.

I have said it LONG AGO .....I AM NOT HAPPY with the ticket prices.
I know prices have to change but lets be realistic ( and not forget about ticket bastards legalized scalping )
BTW had a friend at the concert in Jax..... he wentout to get something and they would NOT let him back in and he had his ticket stub with him thinking that was all he needed............ they refused to let him back in!
Someone outside was still selling tickets and all my friend had was $20.00 and the person finally sold him the ticket ( show had already started) and he ended up with a better seat...

I'm not trying to get into a p*** contest here, but every show still sells out so I would respectfully suggest your opinion is the minority on this one.

Larry,
I dunno what he was going out after,... I usually check with the person on the gate and if they say no, okies,...but I think it should be made clear BEFORE one enters..... and I think it was Karma or Fate or God(s) or Winds of Change or what have you watching out over him that blessed him with a better seat.
