the radical members of the westboro baptist church (www.godhatesfags.com) are coming to protest at my school this coming monday. students at my school, nicholls state university, have recently formed a gay-straight alliance, a support group for people of all sexual orientations.

the group boasts such ideas as "thank god for 9/11," and "thank god for tsunami." both administrative and religious leaders on campus have denounced the members of this group, but under law, must allow them to protest.

ill be there to witness what happens, and ill be back to report.

i cant believe the world has come to this.

These people are not practicing the teachings of Jesus. They are a disgrace to the Christians that do try to live a life following in His footsteps and example.

These people appear on Howard Stern sometimes. They are full of hate. I think they are to the far right of the religous right.

I would make sure to laugh hysterically in their face every time you pass by. Spitting on them couldn't hurt either.

Exactly Connie, people like this have no idea what it means to be a Christian. They look at one or two Scriptures and ignore the rest of the Bible. Just shameful.

I heard the daughter of the founder on the Al Franken Show. I can't even describe how bizarre it was. She 's talking about hating people and all the time calling Al "honey" and trying to sound so sweet. She's training to be a nurse, and was asked if she would treat homosexual HIV patients, at least she said that she could separate her personal beliefs from her job, but I'm not so sure. I think the most effective way to react to them is to be calm polite, and offer to pray for them. Don't counter hate with hate.

No problem. There is a bunch of them. In think Shirley has about 8 kids. Those poor kids!

I can appreciate one's right to exercise the 1st Amendment, however I think the entire principle of this group is simply f*cked up.
