OK lookie hur. Da JB man's runnin a bidness yo. Not a charity, a bidness. I got my own bidness too, and dis hur's what I tell my clients.
"My prices is my prices. If you don't like em, you can walk down da skreet. Dey ain't got what you want, so I know you gon' be right back. Cause I got what you want sittin right hur."
It's da same wif da JB man. You can go to anutha concert for less money, but dey ain't got what you need. Da JB man's da only one who got what you need, and his prices is his prices dig?

Ding. Ding. Welcome to round 437 of the "It's wrong to make money" title fight.F1NZZZ wrote:I'll agree we disagree... Those items you mentioned are possesions, items you keep for an extended period of time. Not just for 2hrs. I just thought it would be nice to put the phans #1 on the priority list, not some fat cat promoter exec.rednekkPH wrote:Sure there is - and that reason is that lots of folks will pay it. I've paid anywhere from $20 to $175 apiece for Buffett tickets, and I've gotten my money's worth every time.
No basketball shoe is worth $125 either. Does that mean Nike should sell them for $30, even though people will line up to buy them for $125?
Maybe it's just me, but i "keep" JB concerts for longer than 2 hours. They're called memories and friends. I paid $65 to go parasailing in Jamaica for 4 minutes. But I went at sunset and saw something that will stay with me forever. That is worth more than any pair of sneakers I will ever own.
And how do you truly decide who is a "phan"... somebody that has 17, 397 posts on this board? Someone that has EVERY JB album/CD ever issued and some that weren't? Or maybe someone that is old enough to have tickets from 30 years ago? It's an ugly system, but YOU ultimately decide if you go or don't go.
I'll probably only see the Philly 8/27 show because I choose to not go to other shows where I can only get scalper tickets. I choose. Plain and simple.

So what if he has everything now. Why does he owe us anything other than a good show, a good night of entertainment, and good music. He is charging what the market will bear. As I stated earlier, on a relative value, his pricing is no worse than most other shows out there and frequently is a better deal.So are you telling me that for the last 35 years he has not made any $?? Now that is dumb. He's made more than enough 10 times over. You act like if he did not charge $130 a ticket he'll not be able to "live the life he's accustomed to for the next 30-40 year." This man owns planes, boats, resturants, and multiple houses. He is not hurting for money today or 50 years from now. That is just ignorant to say he needs more money for the future. It should be about the music. There are plenty of artists that could charge huge ticket prices but don't. We are the same phans that made Jimmy what he is today. Why must he rape us of our hard earned dollars? We grew up with his music, it's an art form that has become part of our lives. I'm sorry but there is not 1 reason he needs to charge that much for a concert ticket. If he really wanted to control it he could. Bottom Line.
And, we should be glad that he is still touring every year at almost 60 years old and giving us the opportunity to see him and have fun at his show. Most other acts that have been around as long as he has have no interest in their fans, won't play their "popular" hits and would rather sit back on their fat a** and watch the royalty checks roll in. I agree that no concert should cost what it does these days but that's a fact of life. And, to imply that JB owes us anything is ludicrous.

You only need to hit "Submit" once, even if it's going slowly.
However, I agree with what you said.
