There's another Related Artists connection here, too. Story has it that one of Jimmy's drinking buds several years back was James Taylor. Once, when asked where James was, Carly Simon (then JT's wife) responded "Out drinking with that Jimmy Buffett guy again."

Oh yeah, Jimmy has also covered a couple of JT songs (Lighthouse, Mexico), and JT sang on some of Jimmy's songs (False Echoes, L'Aire de la Louisiane).

thesedates have been out a while now... the full series hasn't been annouced yet.. and jimmy is never in the first wave of shows..

Not a chance. He hasn't played Jones Beach 2 years in a row since '97/'98. With all the stadium shows he's doing I don't see him playing a 14,000 seat venue.
