HUGE fan, and I can't wait to see it!!!

I also thought that episode 1 and episode 2 were under-rated. Not as good as 4, 5, and 6, but they were held up to that standard. They were neccessary to establish the plot for this one, and as stand-alones, they weren't that bad, like most people say.

Either way, it's finally coming!!!

I agree completely. There was NO way 1 and 2 could have lived up to the hype. For many, that made it a big let down, but it was unrealistic and foolish to think it would match 4-6. Sure, you how technology reversed itself (like Jedi being able to throw enemies around with "the force"...surely Obi-Wan didn't forget how to do that when he got old?)

Still, I enjoy 1 and 2 as standalone movies...but then, who wouldn't want to be a jedi? btw - Darth Maul ruled

Ok, so maybe not the living room. It would probably look better in the kitchen anyway.

If you had never seen any of them and watched them today you'd prolly say that the new ones were better, mainly because of effects and the awesome light saber duels. My fave being Darth Maul's battle with Qui-Gonn and Obi-Wan.
However it seems most people that grew up on them prefer the old ones, most likely due to nastalgia of being a kid and what not.
Heck I still get chill bumps when Luke looks over to see the spirits of his father, Yoda, and Obi Wan.
I must admit though that I think that the new DVD ROTJ ending makes no sense.
Myself I can't get enough Star Wars and if the rumor is true that there is gonna be a live action tv show centered around Boba Fett in the future...bring it on!!

As for the idea of "technology reversing itself", keep in mind that 4,5,6 were set mostly on backwater planets during war-time, and 1,2 were mostly set in cities and developed areas during peace-time. It only SEEMS like things got older as technology advanced.

I have not seen the DVD ROTJ ending but does it have anything to do with the orignal name of the movie????

for those wondering it was to be "Revenge of the Jedi"

i've heard an internet rumor, so you know it has to be true, that they are changing the end of Jedi, to have Hayden Christensen's face superimposed on to that of Sebastian Shaw when Luke sees his dead mentors.

What? Anyone else hear this carp
I know i don't get here quite often enough

In the original ending it cuts away to fireworks in the forest with the Ewoks then cuts to old Anakin, Yoda, and Old Obi Wan(Sir Alec Guiness).
In the new ending we still see the fireworks but it then cuts away to all the cities in the Galaxy celebrating the defeat of the Empire then cuts back to Endor as we see a young Anakin, (Hayden Christensen), Yoda and old Obi Wan (Sir Alec Guiness)
Hope this helps and the new ending actually does make more sense with ROTS coming out.

In the new ending of ROTJ they replace older Anakin's spirit with the young long haired Anakin (the one you'll see in the new movie ROTS).
My thing is, the movies are about good versus evil and redemption.
I feel that since Anakin/Vader was old when he redeemed himself by killing the Emperor then his spirit should have been the older Anakin.
Seems weird that they'd show young Anikin, the same one that's troubled, defiant, and wiped out a whole village of Sandpeople.
I guess the new ending is cool for visual effects and suprise. It prolly should have been more of a bonus feature than put in the actual movie.
What really sucks is that the original is not even available on DVD.
That's my only problem with the new DVDs, every thing else is a welcomed improvement.
Geez I sound like a geek  .

You think that makes you a geek, how about this? I told all of my family and friends not to buy me the original trilogy on DVD just for the simple fact that 2007 will be the 30th anniversary and I'm holding out for the great big uber-collector's set with all six movies at once.

As far as the TV series, I think it will be a character besides Boba Fett, but here's the info from theforce.net.
Here's what we've been told officially about the upcoming live-action TV series from Lucasfilm.

100 episodes
1 hour each
based on a spinoff character
Lucas will direct first season
write season one at one time
film season one at one time
takes place between ROTS and ANH

BTW, did anyone else ever see Attack of the Clones in the IMAX release? Now that was good stuff! That fight between Yoda and Dooku in IMAX was a sight to see.

I remember reading speculation about Boba Fett simply because it could be using the guy who plaed him in AOTC.
He was too young to be in the new movie killing Jedi at only 15 or so.
I believe the guy that played him, Daniel Logan is 17 now

I have been to every opening, including in 1977 when my two buddies and I cut out from school and went to see it. There were only 30 or 40 people in a 1300 seat theater for the 1st show. We sat through the 2nd showing and there were probably 200 to 300. We walked out at the end of it and there was a line all the way around the block.

For Empire, I actually was working for the theater and saw it before it opened. Even though I don't work for there anymore I still know folks who will get me into the first show.
