Not sure about their picks. I guess time will tell.
Gibson getting drafted so high is a joke. He's a total gimp and majorly overrated.

Pollack however was a total stud
Gibson was drafted in the 4th round. Is that high? The problem with Fred is that the first 3 years he would play basketball instead of trying to bulk up in the weight room.

I love Fred, but I hope when the Steelers play the Patriots, he DROPS the ball!

And how about NO GA TECH players getting drafted?? LOL
4th round isn't high, but for Gibson I think it is. He can get timid. He hear's those footsteps and just freaks.
Or maybe that was just against UF 8)

but I agree, playing basketball did interfere...but he never earned his reputation. He was an average receiver at best. He had the talent to be really good, but never applied. I don't think he'll make it in the NFL.
yup ... he would never take a hit ... not great hands. I wish Georgia could have kept him a couple of more years ...
The funniest part is that the Steelers got him to replace Burress...LMFAO...there's not even a close comparison between those two

It's hard to get excited about the Titans' draft class. Pac-Man Jones is the only player I think will make a difference. They took a chance with their 2nd round pick of Roos when there were higher rated OL players still on the board. Obviously, they know more than I do so I just have to trust them. I was dissappointed when the Titans took a rb in the 6th round and it wasn't the Vols' Cedric Houston. I would have liked for them to give the kid a shot to back up the oft-injured Chris Brown. Overall it was a pretty good draft, just not an exciting one for me.

I was a little surprised that Michael Munoz didn't get drafted. He has had a tough time with injuries throughout his career. Hopefully someone will sign him to a FA contract and he can stay off the operating table. He really is a good kid.

Munoz will get a FA contract...nobody was going to waste a draft pick on a kid who can't stay healthy, but somebody will surely give him a shot in FA

He is saying that he is seriously considering giving up football. Couldn't blame him. I think he'll get a shot somewhere and the good thing about signing as a FA is you get to have some control over your situation.

I think Rolle was the safer pick of the three, but Rodgers may turn out to be the best of the three. While Jones has the best speed, his size worries me. My sense is that Jones' ability to return kicks is what tilted it his way. I just don't like using the 6th pick to take a corner, but they really had no choice this year. I'm am glad they took a corner over Mike Williams. He will be more of a possesion receiver imo and the Titans need a deep threat. Personally, I would have liked to have seen them take the Williamson kid from South Carolina. I think he will flourish in the NFL. The 'cocks never had a qb who could get him the ball. I'm sure he wishes Stevie would have taken over a year or two earlier.

I would agree with your assessment on the CBs ... Williamson woulda been good but at #6 is a little early [minnesota :o me with that pick ]

I am surprised the Titans didnt get ANY QB help ???? McNair aint gonna last forever, and you got rid of Bolek didnt you ???

i agree Pac-man is going to be a bust...too short. He's 5'9"...wait until he goes up against these receivers that are 6'4 and such....

btw - I like Jax's pick of Matt Jones....can't believe how fast he is for his sice...4.39 40 is amazing at 6'6...I think he'll make a good tight end/wr...and you know they'll work in some plans for him to pass it

I agree that 6 would have been early to take Williamson. The Titans like most teams were looking to trade down, but b/c this was a weak draft, nobody was willing to give much to trade up.

Volek resigned last year. However, I am on the fence with him as a successor to McNair. The problem was that there just weren't many good qb's this year. I'm not sold on either Smith or Rogers, especially the latter. You would have had to shoot me had we taken David "Opie" Greene. (I still think it is sad that Greene & Pollack were separated. Long distance relationships just don't work. If Brad Pitt & Jennifer Anniston couldn't make it, how will they?) If Mac stays relatively healthy this year, I think he will come back for one more. Hopefully, next year's draft class will be a little stronger at qb.

LMFAO

Volek .. he would be a good "serviceable" replacement if need be .. I thought he left ... this was a weird draft .. first time i can ever remember NO draft day trades ... usu some movement ... and there wasnt very many QB choices ....

I think he will be a good player, but I think he is a bit of a project, and Jax needs some immediate help on offense. They probably have a championship caliber, or close to it, defense. IMO, they should have taken Mark Clayton. I'm curious as to how Matt Jones will be handled? He was listed on draft day as a TE. I don't think he can play the traditional TE position b/c I suspect he couldn't block your or me. I could see him in a H-Back roll, ala Frank Wycheck or, more likely, as a true wr.

True. He couldn't be a traditional TE...but he may only be a TE for certain plays where the TE is the intended target, not a blocker....but I think he could make a good WR...it would take work for him to get the routes and such down, but with that blazing speed and huge size, he could be very well utilized.

Munoz comes from good stock. Dad was a great guy. He spoke at our baccalaureate service. As good as a football player that he was he was a much better man.
