It's spelled "Manhattan" and if you get lost on Long Island perhaps you shouldn't leave your driveway. There might be traffic but it's pretty tough to get lost on an island that's only 20 miles from north to south and has an east/west highway running through the middle of it...
Some people shouldn't be allowed out in public without adult supervision.
isn't it your year to monitor Shane
I meant snowcow. You really have to work at it to get lost on LI.

The roads don't bother me.. It's the people there that I can't stand... Well, like Larry for example..

On topic though. I think Jimmy is living his life exaclty how he has told us that he would, HIS WAY, or I suspect that in the Manhattan high rise, that could of been Janes way?
So Jane also owns the small shack in Palm Beach?????

I think the Jimmy of the early 70's wouldn't like what he has turned into. But, times are a changing. There is another topic on the board now about what stage of Parrothead you are in, I am an 8 to 9. Because, Jimmy's old anti-establishment attitude has turned into him being the establishment. I personally like the old rock and roll attitude of “screw the Man”. But, that is just me. One thing I will give him though, is that he has brought more of Margaritaville to us by having the cafes and CIPs. So, it is a double edge sword. He jumped the shark, but that made his “Margaritaville” a lot closer for all of us.

Depending on what your idea of "Margaritaville" is I wouldn't count the cafes and Cheeseburger chains as mine. I have nothing against him creating them in order to have something to fall back on but they're not my idea of what Margaritaville is. I'm sure that's different for each of us, as it should be.

It isn't mine either, but merely an escape from normal restaurants to a more atmospheric place that is to remind us of Margaritaville.

I would just like to thank you guys for actually talking about and not attacking me, except for getting lost in Long Island thing. Being a "newbe" was not sure how this was going to be taken. good points from all, except the long island stuff, some of the names were pretty funny.

Again, I guess it depends on how you define Margaritaville but I like the definition Buffett gives on You Had To Be There. In that regard a callously commercial restaurant with overpriced food and watered down drinks is about the farthest from my mind when it comes to Margaritaville.

The CIP here in Columbus is a great atmosphere. The place just reeks of people having fun when you walk in. Now the Margaritaville in Vegas sucked. That was a joke, except from 11am to 3pm (seemed to be the time people where having the most fun). But, maybe your idea of fun and mine aren’t the same. But, I do know Margaritaville is about fun. Loosen up, have a beer on me!

I have been to 5 or 6 cafes now, and they don't seem to be as fun as the CIP I have been to. But, maybe the CIP in Columbus is special.

Actually my idea of Margaritaville doesn't involve a restaurant at all but instead is more along the lines of an island paradise. Living here along the Coast of Carolina is about as close as I get most of the time but that's good enough for me.

The M'ville shrimp are the product of a woman who owns an ad agency in New Jersey who licensed the name and has the shrimp distributed out of MA. No offense to the New Jerseyans or New Englanders among us, but that doesn't exactly scream ISLAND to me. :pirate:
