JB Key west Home

Just got back from a great week in Key West. During the week I was talking with someone who told us that JB maintains a home in KW and went as far as to give us the address. We drove by and found it hard to believe that someone with as much money as JB would stay there(not that it was that bad). So I was wondering does JB still maintain a place in Key West. I know he spends time at the studio down there. Don't ask me for the address of this suposed home, it's not fair to those living there to give it out even it if it is JB's.

I took a few pics of that place last time I was in Key West. Didn't he just rent a room there back in the 70's?

I think he was one of those "Bubba slept here" kind of residents for a long time.
The house we had the address to wasn't bad (the one that was supposed to have
had the "Beware of Owner" sign on the gate) but it was not in the Old Town area.
The house next to Louie's is now part of the Coconut Beach Resort, a timeshare
property. We stayed there last year for MotM. Good location for that, between the
Casa Marina & Louie's.

Coconut Beach is where we just stayed, my brother in law has a time share. We heard the same story about JB having an apt there when he first came to KW. But this is not the place we were told he lives currently when he is in town. Actually it is a dead end street with a small park.

Coconut Beach is where we just stayed, my brother in law has a time share.

Were you in a third floor "walk-up"? The walking all over Old Town
was nothing compared to dragging all our stuff up those stairs.

We were lucky, first floor, A102. But the maid stole $400 from my wife's purse. The GM questioned her by putting a VHS tape in front of her....she confessed and we got our money back!

Wow, that's bad news; glad you got your money back.

When I did the Trails of M'ville tour the guide says JB owns at least two houses in KW...one where he takes fishing buddies, one that he hangs out in (more private) and possibly more. He also owns the entire block where M'ville is located (the business offices are upstairs with a sidestreet entrance).

I don't think Jimmy owns a house in KW anymore. I remember a story about 5 years ago about him selling his house in KW and about a month after he sold it a hurricane came thru and flooded the house and did some damage that caused about $1 million in damage to the house and Jimmy said something like, "Boy I got out of there just in time". I don't remember who he sold it too but I remeber reading about it on KeyNews.com and there was a story on one of the entertainment shows about it.
