Both of them prolly would not sound much different since they are excellent recordings with very little crowd noise.lusby wrote:Gotta just mention the two gems that only exist in live form- In The City and Everlasting Moon. Two of my favorites that I would love to hear how album versions would sound if they existed.

Same here. I actually didn't hate it, but Autour certainly wasn't a favorite from FSOTW. It's a different song live, and I've liked it ever since.Cindyb wrote:Hated Autour Du Rocher on the CD. It sounded great live at Alpine 2001 and I've liked it ever since.

you can add me to this list, too....nutmeg wrote:me tooYuppieParrothead wrote:I was at the rescheduled Chicago shows after 9/11. When he played Defying Gravity it sent chills down my spine. Up until then it was a second tier song for me. Now it's one of my favorites.

Another vote for Autour Du Rocher!!!
I remember it opening Set II in Cincy '02....
I HATED this song before finally "hearing" it live, this still isn't one of my favs but the mellow groove and trance-like mood it set over the crowd that night made it a very respectful song......
Its tough to find a song I didn't already love!

This is in the "Wayback Machine" but I did not like Coconut Telegraph when that album was first released. In fact I often set the needle (yes-vinyl, kiddies) on track two. When I heard it at Poplar Creek, I never skipped it again.
More recently, "Painted the Sky"
