Has anyone else heard about the new Superman movie? I stumbled across this the other day....

saw it along time ago, they just released a pic of the new suit, its retro and ugly as hell

Plot Synopsis from WB:

Thanks for the info. I thought they were making a new sequel a few years back starring Nicholas Cage but I guess plans for that fell through.

If memory serves correctly, that one was supposed to be directed by Tim Burton and was going to be based on the graphic novel "The Death and Life of Superman", but it fell through. Not sure why.

Don't quote me on this, but from what I've heard, this one picks up several years after the events in Superman II. Superman left for a while, but now he's back. I guess they're just pretending that Superman III and IV never happened (which, given the "quality" of those movies, is probably just as well :) ).

There was one that Tim Burton was pushing for that fell through, but the Nicolas Cage version was another adaptation. The treatment was written and was going to be directed by Kevin Smith. Kevin Spacey was tapped to play Braniac in that version. I find it interesting that Kevin Spacey's back in this one, only as Lex Luthor. He must be a fan.
