Living in the east definitely affords the opportunity to go to more shows within driving distance.

The year before last, I was fortunate enough to go to several shows. I drove to about half of them, used frequent flyer miles for a couple more, and was fortunate enough to be on business trips in the general area for a few more. Also, airfares the year before last were still relatively low, compared to today.

I would NEVER, NEVER go to a tailgate with people from work..... :o :o :o (If others from work happen to be there, I'm sure they feel the same way. If we bumped into each other in the GW parking lot, we'd both feel like we were part of some underground society, and there would be unspoken agreement that neither of us would ever mention the other's parking lot behavior at work....... Or even mentiont that we'd seen each other..... :o )

I'm not a constitutional law scholar, never claimed to be, I'm just a lawyer who knows when the First Amendment does, or doesn't apply.
SchoonerWharf wrote:Well let me get this straight...according to your theory...the orignal poster does not have the right to express his opinion because this is not a government controlled board. Wow thats an intertesting theory...because when one reads the Consitution it does not say that free speech only applies in government controlled situations.
It's not a theory, it's a fact. The original poster has the right to express his opinion, just as you do, however uninformed it may be, but phjim or any of the moderators can delete, censor, edit, cut, whatever you want to call it, any post on this board for any reason. Or for no reason. So no, you don't have an absolute right to free speech here and the First Amendment doesn't apply.
SchoonerWharf wrote:The government of course is the only one that can be called to task for infringing or suppressing it, but I am pretty sure THE RIGHT STILL EXISTS!!!!!!!! Thats why I can write a letter to my newspaper, I can put a bumper sticker on my car, thats why I can curse out my neighbor if I so choose, that why I can post on this site, you know because WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH!!!!!!...Unless your theory is that phjim has somehow risen to the point that he controls all the free speech in America. If thats true I didn't read it in the paper.
You can knock yourself out writing letters to a newspaper, the paper doesn't have to print any of them and yoiu have no recourse if they don't. You can put a bumper sticker on your car, you can curse out your neighbor all you want, you can post on this board. I never said, or even suggested, you couldn't. I also never said phjim controls free speech in America. But he, and the moderators, does control free speech on this board. So once again I'll say, private board, private action. The First Amendment does not apply here. Never has, never will.
SchoonerWharf wrote:Wow my eyes are so much more open now.
Sarcasm only works when you can comprehend the subject at hand.

You also might want to go back and reread my original post. Nowhere did I say the right to free speech didn't exist. What I said was that the First Amendment argumentit was irrelevant here. And it is.
