The actual quality of education you are paying for.
Ann, let me restate the question. Since employers only care about the "piece of paper" why should I care further? I will get the same money as someone else with an "accredited" piece of paper.
You won't. A friend of mine got an ITT degree at the same time I got my bachelors. He is framing houses, I got employment in the field I wanted to get into.
Troy are you stating that his ITT degree meant jack and yours helped you or am I more confused than normal ?
Yes. An ITT dgree gives you 2 options. Fast food and construction. My degree helped me gain employment.

Right. But you are PAYING for a product... the product being a quality education... if I'm paying for a graduate program, I'm going to pay for the best I can afford, that absolutely must be accredited.
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

ahhh.. there's where we differ. I don't care if I learn s*** as long as I get paid for having that piece of paper LOL
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

I've seen those same degrees sold on TV infommercials...
Yet, I never knew Sally Struthers was a carpenter...

Definitely check different Universities to see what they offer. I completed my MS last year from the University of Tennessee. I from 1 to 2 classess per semester while working. The drawback is that it took me 3 years to finish. If I'm not mistaken, regular course fees applied and then an extra $100 per class was tacked on to cover costs associated with distance education. My first few classes were videotaped and then mailed to me. After that, they were all streamed via a university downloaded software package that allowed you to participate in the class if you chose. Each class was also archived and available throughout the semester. I did have to drive over to Knoxville to present and defend my project (mine was a special project in lieu of a thesis). Worked out great for me.

Rick, this is the point I'm trying to get across here and apparently failing miserably! I DON'T CARE IF I LEARN ANYTHING!!! I just want the degree and once I get that I can fake my way through anything I choose to do! Silly Ann and her thirst for REAL education!
BTW, I got some info from a SUNY (State University of New York) school yesterday. They've got the masters I'm looking for and you only have to go to the campus 2-4 times throughout the program. And I'll get the same degree as the shmucks that actually sit in classrooms! Looks like it might just be a good idea!
I appreciate everyone's input! Prior to starting this thread I just assumed that the purely online universities didn't differ much from the real ones but you all have helped me open my eyes and I thank you all!

I was just going to post about SUNY. It is one of the schools that I am seriously considering. I also need an online option. Anyway SUNY looks good.
