Lyle Lovett & Julia Roberts

They didn't make it 2 years, did they?

and on the hand Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen were married how many years?
20 tumultuous years... seem to recall that they had separated a couple of times too.

I'm just saying, I think it's a real volatile mix when you throw two super-achiever superstars together.
Of course, they're happy now, and I do wish 'em good luck. I do think they'll need it!

Ok I see your point however on the other hand if you were a famous performer that thousands of single women were attracted to would you want to be associated with a plain Jane from some little podunk town noone ever heard of??
Can't say that I would 8) I'd tell her I'd see the same time next year!
..and then I'd say that to the next lil' honey I met in the next town..and so on...and so on!!

No, seriously, to be a touring star and try to make a marriage work,
she would have to be on the road with me. Successful superstar marriages seem to have to have that continuous bond.
There would be too many outside temptations on both sides if they're not together enough.
Look what happened with Bruce Springsteen...
He is miserable without his actress wife, and ends up crying on the shoulder of his very pretty backup singer. Skip to divorce... and now, THEY'RE married quite happily! :P
$#@&...only Vegas again?? Padres ...gotta start believin'!Bring on '14 Spring Training!

Which brings us right back to the "too much time on their hands" thing. It's a sad day when crap like this (and the Aniston-Pitt split) is "news". I'd much rather be rockin' out to the Black Crowes (especially with their original drummer back in the fold) than hearing about who Chesney's marrying this week. That's pretty much a non-event and totally not related to music at all. So, when you get your own web site you can call the shots all you want. In the meantime I'll continue to post MUSIC news in the music section of this web site. Now you can go put your head back up Urban's buttocks, I'm sure she's missed ya.
talk about no life. . . you are the only person ive ever come across who can't play a single note of music yet music is your entire life . . .Jonathan, its not only my impression but many others' that your entire life is music. Just look at your sig line. Thats sad. Im sure that you aren't married and don't have kids, because if that was the case you certainly wouldn't be able to devote so much time to something so trivial in life as the latest releases by every obscure, unknown, crappy alt-country-folk-rock band from the deep south. Your knowledge of music and incessant article posting was impressive at first but now it generally just comes off as snobby, obnoxious and pretentious. Make music (and music discussion boards) a pastime, not a life.

Isn't KC from the south?

i said "deep south", Tenesee isn't in the deep south. Plus anyway, i said "obscure, unknown alt-country-folk-rock band", and Im sure that you're smart enough to figure out that Kenny fits none of those classifications.

That just goes to show what you know about my life. In a word (well, two), not jack sh*t. Since when did not being a musician have anything to do with anyone's knowledge of music? I have plenty of friends that devote even more time to pursuing their likes than I do and none of them are precluded by family (oftentimes they include family). How presumptious of you to ass-u-me that just because I enjoy reading about, discussing and listening to music that it means I must have no family. There's a whole world of difference between that and a bunch of busy bodies that apparently have nothing better to do than dig up someone's personal info online in order to intimidate them. I've got some news for ya, pull your head out of Chesney and Urban's collective asses for about five seconds and smell the roses and don't EVER tell me how to spend my time. I'll spend it as I damn well please, whether it be posting here or anywhere else for that matter. Here's an idea, start your own discussion board where you can boss people around and make even more totally unfounded assumptions about peoples' lives. I'll go on frequenting and posting to the boards I belong to and listening to all the music I want to. If you're that worried about what other people do with their time perhaps you'd do well to get your nose out of other people's business and get a life of your own.

It's amazing to me that a guy who likes Kenny Chesney would even dare to call any other artists or musical genre "crappy".

It's also amazing that someone who lives in Cleveland, Ohio would dare to bad mouth the deep south.

I appologize. . . if i name called, then i didn't mean to, but i dont think i really name called. I made assumptions, but the fact that someone would get so upset over it and make a rebuttle by name-calling just shows who is the one who really gets affected by such things. Im just trying to make sugestions, god forbid i do such a thing!

I left this website after everyone p*** their pants over Kenny's newest album and came back hoping that things would calm down. Once again, because of the same person over the same music artist who he likes to belittle so very often, i think im gonna leave again.

I love all you parrotheads out there, you guys are the greatest and we're all gonna keep on partying hard until Jimmy calls it quits :o But for those who don't get the whole parrothead thing, (and yes im gonna make a sugestion again whether you like it or not), chill out and relax and dont over react over a small little internet assumption. you dont know me and i dont know you, so why get so heated about it??? Im sure Jimmy would want us to take it easy, and this website used to be all about that. . . .but i dont think it is anymore.

I first read this item on COBO, and it said Jimmy was at the wedding. There's your Buffett-related news angle.

Why did this "good news" story bring out so much  nastiness in some folks here?

Thats awesome, but most people want to pretend they arent friends so they dont have to admit that they are music bigots.
