You may not have to smuggle anymore
Cameras into the Tweeter Center, Mansfield.
I sent them an e-mail yesterday asking if cameras were allowed at Jimmy's Concert and here's what they sent back to me
Hi,
We allow non professional cameras (i.e. cameras without a detachable lenses) in for most show, unless prohibited by the artist. Please call 508-339-2331 on the morning of the concert to see if Jimmy Buffett will be allowing cameras in that day. Camcorders and all recording devices are prohibited at the Tweeter Center.
Thank you for emailing the Tweeter Center.
I also called them today, before I received my e-mail back, and......the woman did not say anything about calling the day of the concert. But other than that she told me what the e-mail said.
Just thought some of you might like to know.

The only time I've ever seen him "allow" cameras was at the grand opening of Margaritaville in Las Vegas. Outside of that, all regular concerts have had a camera ban.....Charleston even told me to stop taking pictures one time!buffettbride wrote:In my experience, Jimmy doesn't ever allow camera's at his shows. But it was nice of you to go through the trouble of asking.

At my wedding, we were allowed to bring our wedding photographer inside, but she could only take pictures before the show and during intermission and THAT was a special exception.dean_siu wrote:The only time I've ever seen him "allow" cameras was at the grand opening of Margaritaville in Las Vegas. I think the key phrase here is Prohibited by the Artist.mommar wrote:Cameras into the Tweeter Center, Mansfield.

The reason I e-mailed and called is because last year at Phenway we were set for smuggling, however when we got to the security gates, everyone had their cameras in plain view and were all being allowed in, I had thought they weren't allowed at all so I was only smuggling a disposable camera, my daughter was smuggling a digital for a friend that had no idea cameras weren't suppose to be allowed.
So I figure this year I was going to check it out before I go, so I know ahead of time.

Right, and on most tickets it says, "No cameras or recording devices." Not all tickets, but I've seen it on most. Besides, what are they going to do, take away your $400 digital camera? They arent taking mine without a fight.

It has happened to my party that they told us to put the cameras back in our car.
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

No problem in Tampa..... but they were more worried that the show would be canceled due to the hearing about noise that morning...so I think cameras were not an issue.... or mabe they chose not to check down my pants..which is where I stuffed it...LOL along with the flask!

Re: You may not have to smuggle anymore
er, they might. At Atlanta in 2003 I took my $500 camera into Philips Arena. At the enterance, I was told to follow a security guard to a claim check station. I was nervous about leaving my camera behind, but this was gonna be my 1st Buffett concert. And I wasn't gonna miss it for nothing. At the end I did get it back, though.UpstateNYPH wrote:Right, and on most tickets it says, "No cameras or recording devices." Not all tickets, but I've seen it on most. If they dont say anything, by all means continue!

Yep, I have had to check it before as well. As long as I get it back in the end, thats fine. I respect the rules.Sidew13 wrote:er, they might.
